I can’t get this to work on a 2011 RAV4. The replacement part is identical to the one I removed and everything seems like it’s properly seated. I got the locking mechanism back in just fine. However, the handle is really loose and won’t open the front driver side door. It’s not catching on anything inside. Will I have to remove the interior door panel? Ug.

I think it’s important to note that at least on the 2012 model, you need to make sure that when you slide the handle on, that the side closest to the lock need to slide into a lever. Otherwise the handle will stick and not open from the outside

My 2001 Rav4 has more of an L mechanism/ arm and it doesn’t just slide out after removing the bolt internally. Why does my lock look so different?
