As much as I love the bike, the new van is ideal for you two. Won't have to worry about foul weather, bike tire punctures, wild animals, setting up the tent before dark, etc. like before. @@el7jake I traveled in a van almost identical for 20 years in South Africa.. never had a problem..these vans are solid.. my dad had one too when we were growing up and we traveled all over Africa on some hectic roads and ones less traveled without incident. You've more chance having an accident in a normal car.

we never quite hear her purring. She just looks so happy but quietly. Does she purr? Most tamed cats like to establish their own territory that they patrol regularly, which is why you don't see many cats travelling as they rather like to stay in familiar surroundings. However when I lived in my motorhome, in three occasions I met people taking their holidays with their cats. Their animals had very well adjusted to it. It requires total trust between owners and cats to be so enjoyable. Always a pleasure to see.

I would like to mention I previously owned a decorating business, and I know that your curtains, especially the black-out lining, are flammable. If you get very sunny days, be sure to keep a towel or pair of gloves near the dashboard-if that black steering wheel stays in the sun too long, it can get painfully hot, as if you're grabbing a red-hot poker by the business end. My mom used to throw a towel over hers to prevent this on sunny days. Happy travels! :-)

Others have mentioned Dean's camera work and production. This guy does a great job at choosing camera angles, timing and the "phraseology" of his scenes. I live in LA and know a ton of people in the film industry, a lot of whom are independent film makers. Dean's work is better than most indy film makers I've seen who have been trained at Cal Arts or USC. Not sure if he just has great visual instincts or if Dean is actually a trained filmmaker, but these videos are a joy to watch for the scenery alone. Dean could be a very successful travel doc filmmaker but since he's made Nala the star, he has our hearts as well as our professional admiration.

I feel like this is the life all cats are meant to have. Perfect balance between being super safe with your human who takes you to the vet, gives you mad cuddles and keeps you fed but also lives outside with you where you can hunt and poop on the ground not litter and just chill out happy, warm and safe in the van with your human at night like cats love to do. It's beautiful ♥️ I am so happy you're in the van, you'll be safer and get better rest but still have awesome adventures! And you can always break off to go biking for a day and come back to your van 🚐♥️

Hope you'll write book 2 as soon as you can weigh up the pros and cons of bike vs van. Having watched and re-watched all your videos I'm still in awe of your journey. You started with a simple goal to bike the world. Along comes dear Nala and it's a wonderful trip you two are on. Wild camping, hostels, hotels, even staying in a castle. Sun, rain, hail, sleet, snow and lots of mud. You've done what most of us can't, won't, wouldn't be able to do and we hang on your every clip and wee words. The biking aspect is so beyond me as a senior now. But driving the world is still something I do and love it. But do you get the same feeling and interaction with the van travel? Hope so. For the fridge, I’d make a box to mount the cat tree and mount the box to where the base of the tree mounts now, and put the fridge in that box so nala and the top half of the tree be would over the fridge. That saves your cabinets in the back and gives you a little more room for storing food back there
