Cobia on the Can...Thats the title! (inner editor at work here). Keep that fly rod tip down Jeff. Good basic rule of thumb for salt water fly fishing. Keep the tip in the water as you retrieve. Increases your hookups, and better control of not only your fly, but the line. Dont Jerk the rod, rather strip the line hard to create the "jerk". One hard 24" yank.

Very nice. I know it's tough fishing like that on the bow of the boat with all those tangles. I'd get the fish "on the reel" as soon as possible. Might want to consider a stripping basket in the future. Clouser huh? Not bad for a fly designed for Smallmouth, lol. I believe the Clouser is said to have caught more species of fish than any other fly. My Bucket list is a big Bull Dolphin on the fly.
