IIts 11/20/23, I still watch and rewatch anything with Greg in it, I still miss him so. Such a beautiful man with a wounded soul. A light went out in this world when he died. The world is a sadder & darker place without him. I’m a woman in my 60’s & I’ve loved Gregg Lenoir Allman since I was a senior in high school, which was 1973 . I am happy he is finally at peace , reunited with Duane, his Dad ,and his Mom .

I have them even up with the original lynyrd skynyrd with Ronnie van Zant and would also say Ronnie and Gregg are without a doubt the 2 best songwriters I've ever known and I also have duane and Steve gains neck and neck . Both have know so much tragedy as well and it saddens me when I look back at the good times listening to Gregg whale out some blues and Ronnie kick out some on the hunt . Truly the allmans and skynyrd are to me are southern rock . The outlaws ain't nothing to shine either lol ! Southern Rock RULES !

Rest In Peace , Gregg - hard to believe this was 26 years ago , I was firmly entrenched in everything were doing since the 1989 reunion tour (which I saw in Jacksonville that Summer). 7 Turns , Shades Of Two Worlds were both very good albums & you could hear a fresh , new excitement in the band ...it was a really good time to witness it all from a die hard fan's perspective . Just sad to hear of Gregg's passing ...... I guess we all know , deep down, that they can't live forever , yet they are somehow etched into our minds as "forever young " via celluloid & media ........ rest in peace, Gregg ...... thanks for the music .....

Indeed...a great loss and, as sad as I still am, I am happy that they left us a huge body of music to listen to...that they never did a song the same way twice and that I was around to see them several times...anytime I could. From the time I was a child...I'd 'borrow' a little money from Mom or Dad and pay the babysitter to take me to a show....

That video from Love Valley in NC has been around seemingly forever. Some of it was taken down. Kirk West had a project to get the audio and video synced so it could be released. Hurdles everywhere. I hope some day to see it completed.

This is the only interview with Greg I have ever seen worth a damn! Greg looks so great! He's totally lucid and not sounding like a buzzed hick. It helps that the interviewer is hip and real. The other guys are into it as well. Jamie never be talks but that's cool. Gregg really dug Allen Woody the bassist. I just can't get over how good Gregg Allman looks here. He could of been like this all the time. We all have our own demons now don't we? I never had so many people probng me up though musically and personally. But I am always flexcuses so excusee while I kiss the sky.

This was in 1991, four years before Gregg successfully got clean. I believe at this point he was trying to ease himself off of his addictions though. But yeah, I think in this particular video he seems sober.

So I saw the Brothers 2nd or 3rd show after they got back together. Radio City in NYC. Warren was practically unknown and was walking the crowd before the show. We spoke with him. Just a regular guy. Appreciate that he did that. Same for Oteil Burbridge when he joined. He walked the crowd in Cleveland at the outdoor venue on the west side of the river and flats. Another regular guy just talking to we audience guys who arrived early for the show.

Saw Johnny with Blue Floyd once, he's great. And Warren looks great here, I worry about him and his weight. Always good to see Woody, too. They say he was the most talented bassist and funniest guy ever in the ABB. Saw Warren and Woodrow in Gov't Mule in the late '90s in Los Angeles. Amazing show. And WOW, Savannah pre porn at 8:22. Just finished Greggory's book, ya gotta read it!

I am from L.A. and I saw thAT SHOW TOO. Late 90's....time goes so fast, next thing I remember is seeing him Gregg with band in a small, small venue right across the I70 FFW overpass from Cinci, and into KY. It was amazing, saw Leon Russell there too. Time goes bye bye and flew home from Ohio to L,A, 9.9.2001...then, 9/11 would change the world forever....

This is a studio version of S.B. recorded in 1969. It was considered but did not make the cut for their first album. Don't know whose idea that was. THANKS FOR THE POST 1i1feat.
@MDavidG13 жыл бұрын
Actually this studio version of S. B. was recorded in Macon in 1970, not 1969, and considered for the second album, not the first album.
