Excellent demo as usual! I shudder to think how much that strip of stainless trim would cost at the Mercedes Dealership - if it was even available.. BTW the reinforced nylon pry bar set I got at HF is one of the most-used tools in my toolbox - lots of uses for it - way more than just on cars and it definitely works to avoid paint scratches and general part damage from the disassembly process. I think it was $10 or less.

I've not done this work on an SEC but there are so many similarities between the various W126 models that I do not see why Mercedes would not have used the same fasteners on the SEC.

Very interested to see how you get on with the polishing and dent removal! My your trim REALLY has a lot of tiny dings. Definitely the worst I've seen!

The passenger side is has most of the dings. The driver's side looks really good comparingly. I'll need to come up with a strategy to address them. Polishing with a cotton wheel is the easy part.

@@ImpalamansGarage Wood might work OK I suppose to use as a "punch" but i think a real punch and anvil/dolly is going to be the way to do it. Polish after of course!

@@ImpalamansGarage Thats alright. I watched MonkeyWrenchMike and Randy from Auto Auctions Rebuild tear up the roads in Oklahoma in Randy's S63 AMG at 100 mph. Crazy dudes. Not as interesting as your videos though. Lol I'll be waiting for your next one You might want to get a set of those plastic clip removal tools since you are always taking your door cards and panels off.
