Now that's real railroading!!! Double stackers and manifests are fine, but this is what railroads were built for!! How much of that line is still extant? Great filming, thanks for sharing.
@1jackdk3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Robert. As far as I know, the railroad is still in and used everyday. Its not as busy as it one was.

Nice Video did Pennsylvania railroad Have a track to Bradford PA because there is ties from a train track on a hill. If so did they have a connection to Western Maryland railroad back in the day?
@1jackdk3 жыл бұрын
The Pennsy crossed right in Connellsville and connected to the WM. You can see the bridge in the picture taken from Amtrak station in C-ville. The tracks on the hill would be the P&WV, that connected with the WM. The P&LE also connected with the WM on the other side of the Yough. www.flickr.com/photos/jackdk/51337347753

Thanks for telling me and sorry to bother you but every picture I find of conrail in Connellsville It’s All four axle engines. I wonder if there was any six axle Engines at the coal yard in the old days.
@1jackdk3 жыл бұрын
@@swpandwleandcsx459 Not likely, since most of all that railroad is light branch use. So four axle was the norm. Probably in the employee time tables, the six axle units are prohibited.

Its the access road to the coal mine. You can see the tipple over the tracks in the background.

GE locomotives dream about sounding as good as the EMD's. They only wish they sounded as nice!
