if you have a 7mge/gte headgaskets are a huge problem with them and so is oil pressure problems at high hp output the 7m was a good motor just had some design flaws

You are right our supra is a genuine 1jz 2.5 twin turbo car. They came with an aluminium body, blistien shocks and a full recardo interior. Type R was the lightest and the fastest of all mk3 supras

you must have the original 7mgte in your car if youre alking about head gasket work. the factory rated torque specifications on the head bolts were EXTREMELY under rated. make sure its torqued to 80ft-lbs and after that the motor will be good for whatever you throw at it

you have the 7M-GTE in your supra? because that would seem likely since the head gaskets are known to go in those engines. you should totally do a 1JZ or 2JZ swap. that would be sick! but it aint easy or cheap. if i were you, id go with ARP head studs, metal gaskets, and just modify your 7M.

Sorta not really. If you're looking for something torquing a little more, you'd go for VVT-i 1JZ-GTE. You'd usually stop at around 500-600 crank to be comfortably safe. If you go any higher it tends to put a lot of strain on your motor and your wallet. If you're going for balls out drift slut indestructible "yet affordable" you'd go for the older model "None VVT-i" you can go up to 800 comfortably and apparently although 2JZ is cast-iron, 1JZ's can apparently match the withstanding hp "almost".

LOL please take this from my experience.. 7M's are nothing but trouble, if it's not BHG it's rods, leaks, failure and insane money put into that 3L to keep it running.. Sure it's got .5 more on the 1JZ and sure the block is cast iron but 7M was the skeleton for 1/2JZ.... VVTI 1JZ's STOCK/OEM spool at 1800 RPM, that's fucking low.. And the torque band goes real healthy til around 500HP.. If you get into none-VVTI you're looking at insane amounts of HP on a reliable platform.

Anything you do... if you have a Supra and you're going to mod it... If you're not taking out the motor, shaving the BLOCK AND VALVE COVER + MHG + ARP's and a hell of a lot of babying then don't bother.. From the get go if you're modding your supra and lookning for power in NO MATTER WHAT.. VVTI "single CT-15 turbo" 1JZ = good for low end torque.. NONE VVTI "twin turbo" can reach up to 800.. Look at the drift driftworks R32 skyline.. or Ryan Tuerck's drift toy S13... JZ > 7M ANY DAY..

Over priced. The block alone is roughly $1500-$1800. With the full swap as in ecu, block, R154/W58 transmission and whatever else goodies you get with it - It should add up to roughly $3200-$3500.

Are you fucking kidding me? Supra aren't made by fucking Honda. There is no SUCH THING as a TYPE R SUPRA. You don't have a "Type R Supra" Only Special model of supra that were made were the TURBO A supra. Get on Supramania & you'll get flamed all over...
