1k. H145 Mission Deep Dive Part 2 - Firefighting Walkthrough

Before we get into the sim stuff - because real-life is not a simulation, and because of how we tested Roger's bowel retention last time (whilst dangling him on the hoist cable and swinging him perilously close to trees) - we now turn our attention to Roger's waterworks. People of any age and gender are welcome to the channel, but we do seem to have a number of guys around a particular age (me included). Seriously guys - take care, and don't put off a waterworks check if you know things aren't quite right.
Advice from the NHS here in the UK is offered below. I am not a medical doctor of course, but I just feel that whilst we can have fun geeking out, we should also care for one another. One again, whilst I urge you to subscribe to keep the geek in you alive, I feel almost duty bound to point in that health direction because just one thing we remember could save a life - and in real life we don't get second chances.

The manual is being updated constantly, and does not quite match the way missions are presented in the sim. Significantly there is now a 'Start a Fire' option which is present if you click on the map - things are a little buggy. I am not sure whether this is because I am not zoomed in enough. Restarting the flight in MSFS resolves this first time though. The CalFire options are now in the Library rather than appearing on the page. The scoring on the missions as you douse a fire with water need outlining - as they reset in between runs. (This all depends on what the intention is in the first place). Some missions end clearly with an option to click a green button to save the completed mission to the Hype Operations. Some simply end with a message saying 'completed, back to base', and some (the landfill and forest fire options) I could not put out at all - I was not quite clear how many runs were needed to complete. (And in the landfill fire option, I was struggling to find water). Overall though this set of mission is only going to get better, and they kept on doing that job of improving how I was handling the aircraft in the sim, and how I was exploring areas that otherwise I would not explore. The French Forest fire option was superb in terms of linking with a real-time (or recent time) forest fire, in a completely unknown location.
