Just received the S50 today. Your review helped to guide me to these so thank you! These are my first ever pair of open style headphones. I could not deal with the in-ear buds due to my small ear canal. They also fell out on more than one occasion. Initial impressions: 1. Box and case are premium-feeling. 2. Each bud feels light and is comfortable for a prescription eyeglasses wearer. 3. Call quality is fantastic! I was impressed with the clarity. 4. Volume is clear and airy. The tips absolutely do help funnel that volume into the ear. 5. As you stated, I find the minimum volume a bit too loud. Undecided if this is a deal breaker or not. (Edit: issue fixed for Android users, minimum volume can be lowered). Scroll below for replies. I wanted to find a pair of buds with skinny ear loops throughout so that there was plenty of real estate between my glasses and the buds. These do the job well. 8.5/10. Only knock for me is the high minimum volume. But I suppose that's better than having low volume altogether. I really like them thus far!

@@ReganCipher I just wanted to add one note. If you own an android, go to developer options and disable the "enable absolute volume" feature. That will take care of the high minimum volume and dramatically lower it to your liking. (It separates the double tap volume and phone volume). With that discovery, these buds are perfection.

@thefolkteal6631 I had a grenade that blew up near one of my ears almost made me deaf on one side. I need loud max volume. Is this at max volume intolerable? Because that's what I need
@ReganCipher9 ай бұрын
I don't think any of these open ear style would get loud enough for you to be honest. These are probably the loudest I've tried, maybe the Soundcore Aerofit Pro are a bit louder, but when I go running near the airport both of them struggle to elevate above the sound of planes taking off 😕

I saw your Shokz open fit air review in reddit and you mentioned this is your recommended for open ear buds. is it still the case? Planning to get one of these. Great channel btw!
@ReganCipher2 ай бұрын
Thank you! Yeah I love the OpenFit Air - there super-comfy (at least for me), the sound is quite nice too. Call quality could be better in busy conditions, and battery life is a bit low but the ergonomics are just so good. S50 is a great budget option - they dropped the price to £32 now (link is in the description). FIIL GS is also quite good, a bit louder than the 1More and Shokz which is useful if you're running or cycling in a really noisy area

No BS, but after watching your product review for the 1MORE Fit Open Earbuds S50. I am honestly considering buying my 1st pair of open earbuds. Two quick questions. 1- How loud is it for others around me to hear my open earbuds sound? I do not want to be a walking boom box. 2- How difficult and/or enjoyable is it for you to hear/enjoy anything when you are outside in a loud and noisy place? Is the outside noise too disruptive to enjoy listening to open earbuds? Thank you.
@ReganCipher4 ай бұрын
Thank you! The slightly different style of the S50, with those silicone buffers, mean that the leakage is reduced - you wouldn't be a walking boom box, but if you're in a quiet room people would probably hear that you're listening to something, they just wouldn't hear exactly what. Regarding the volume, I found it fine in almost all situations. I took them on the bike towards Gatwick Airport here in UK, where you've got a mixture of aviation, road and rail noise. When you've got lots of road noise, and those other noises I've mentioned, sometimes it can be tricky to catch every word of a podcast for example, but if you're listening to music, you should be fine - you're probably not going to appreciate it as much as in a quiet room, but it's good enough 👍

Wow. High praise indeed! I've been using the oneodio openrock pro until now but they do sometimes fall out when I'm lifting. Do you think these are more secure? By the way thanks for another high quality review
@ReganCipher Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I never really had much of a problem with the OpenRock Pro but I can see some people might if they're doing lots of bench or floor stuff. The S50 hooks are a bit tighter so yeah I think you would probably find them to be a bit more stable when you're exercising 👍🙌

Man, great video. I've been enjoying the Tozo Openbuds but this 1more design with the tunnel ram tips has me thinking these are the cat's ass. I have never been disappointed with this company and it sounds like they really delivered here.

Thanks! I gotta try the Tozo, so many people mentioned them in the comments now. The S50 are still my go to for exercise, especially running. I agree, they don't bombard the market with releases but when they do come up with a new product it does tend to be very decent. Thanks again for watching and for commenting! 🙌

Need some open ear buds that are decent at phone calls etc. Love my comfobuds pro. Thinking of ordering thr p30s after looking at your review, seems like they have great anc and sound quality plus multipoint. Have you had a chance to try the 1more neo? They are mega cheap rn and 1more usually does good stuff. I cant find any reviews on them
@ReganCipher9 ай бұрын
I haven't tried the Neo, I completely forgot about them! They're cheap enough that I could probably get them in for review, but I know they won't fit me very well because the nozzle bit is perpendicular instead of angling downwards like you see on buds like Soundpeats Air3 series..... when they're shaped straight like that they just fall straight out of my ear 😭

I just bought the s50's and I have watched almost all reviews on it and many people mention the burn in of the buds... my question is, did you do the full burn in? Several places mention the 12 hour burn in.... but that is for only 1 of 4 phases...each 12 hours long!!! that is 48 hours playing frequencies while your phone is busy with it.... did you do this in order to do a full and complete review?
@ReganCipher10 ай бұрын
No, I've had many 1More sets in the past so I know the burn in is included in there by default really. The impact it has on buds like these is pretty negligible and not worth abandoning your earbuds for 12 hours let alone 4x that. I do leave my IEMs burning in overnight a few times but I don't think it's necessary with open ears 👍
@letstravel52782 ай бұрын
Just ordered these buds, could you please explain what this burn in is?

Hurts the back of my ear and the concha, and the bass is too little even with bass boost preset imo. Would Aerofit or Openrock Pro be a better option?
@ReganCipher9 ай бұрын
That's a shame. It's the annoying thing about this style, there's so many elements to it that there's practically no way to determine what will work for your ear from a comfort perspective from someone's review where they could only test it with their own. I only tried the Aerofit Pro, but I found the driver section to be too painful. It extended over my tragus and kept resting on it every time I moved. The sound is alright, a bit more dynamic than the S50, but I couldn't get over the discomfort. The OpenRock Pro are a different sort of fit - I found them pretty comfortably, and because it's a bit bulkier there's no potential 'pinch' behind the ear that I think you were talking about above. It is slightly bassier too, but with all of these style the bass effect dissipates without a seal unfortunately 😭 so you get a bit, but not a lot

The bass is better and cleaner on the S50. Also, you can boost the bass in the EQ and it doesn't distort (it does a little on the Buds Live)

Bass? Really? I guess for open ear only as got S50 with plenty expectations but not bass oriented; I returned it immediately so basically the choice is in-ear or full headphones for me.
@ReganCipher Жыл бұрын
@@reklovjj yeah this is about as bassy as it gets for open ear. You need a good seal for rumbling subbass, it's just not possible with this kind of design

@ReganCipher10 ай бұрын
I find them really comfortable, but the ear hooks might be tight depending on the shape of your ears. Andy's Tech Tone found they pinched a little bit at first but then it went away - I didn't feel the same, but it does really depend on the size and shape of your ears
