Just bought my first 1 oz buffalo....beautiful coin! Airtight is the leader in capsules, and yes it is a pity that anybody making a premium can't provide a $.10 capsule! But gold's not known for bringing out the best in us. Handling it you understand how this metal withstands the test of time and transcends history and cultures. 9999 fine!

If you’re gonna invest a couple thousand dollars in a Gold coin, then buy the correct fitting capsule to protect it. Ditch the foam junk, and purchase the clear fit capsules. They showcase the coin so much better.

no matter what you do to that coin it's value is the spot price of gold - the condition will only effect the value by about 5% give or take. this is known as the premium and any shape of pure gold is worth spot or melt regardless. Gold is gold.

@@billmase2458 where do you sell your Gold, at the smelter? Most coin shops pay about $25 to $35 over spot for AGE BU condition coins, so Gold is not just Gold. Of course, you are going to pay a hefty premium for the AGE’s to begin with, but many other Gold coins (and bars) may only fetch you 95% to 97% of spot price.

The premium i pay for my gold i try to keep around 5%-25%. $35 isn't a big deal for some of us, its not an investment for profit, to me its a fun way to save money that is far better than any bank. My metals have appreciated well over my premiums. I never buy rare gold, NGC coins or any of that crap. Its a nich market compared to raw metals. Further more, no matter what you proclaim. Gold is gold.

I have a 100 of these I buried them buying a 100 more soon! Well worth it I have a bunch from the late 1890-1920 era and my whole family will Get them when god calls me home! I'm the poorest millionaire you will ever meet! I value a walking plow and my anvil and land more than I do say a car\truck! The gold I was buying when I was 16 and everyone said it's what rich people own and you can't afford to just keep gold coins that's money you could use! Or they would say hey when the gold market falls you can't eat it! Ok now this is 18 years of spending my tax returns on them and any money I could save! I don't care how much they are worth! I just recently purchased my first buffalo. First impressions, i am very impressed with it and very pleased. My usual go to coin is the 1oz kruggerand, but the buffalo just may be my new go to. Its easily one of the prettiest coins i have owned yet. Congrats on yours! I too ordered a bunch of coin capsules from amazon. My wife came into a crap load of silver, morgans, peace dollars, a crap load of 90% quarters and dimes, and we put every coin we have into capsules just to have them neat and organized. The capsules from amazon arent the greatest, but they do the job. Just as a side not, if you plan on keeping that as a collector, you should handle the coin with cotton gloves on, unless its just bullion to you, and its just stictly to save or make money on.

@@WolfinProgress finger prints tend to destroy the finish on the coin. Cotton gloves protect the coin from the oils in your skin. I generally dont like to handle any new coins that still have a finish on it, unless the coin is older, the finish isnt as fine as when it comes from the mint, then ill handle the coin without gloves. @@SilverSergeant no, the finish on the coin, the oils in your fingers will ruin the finish of the coin. Some coins have a mirror finish on it, and the oils will destroy that. As well as if it is a proof coin, definitely do not handle with bare hands, use cotton gloves to protect the finish on the coin. Unless of course, it is strictly bullion to you, and your not planning on keeping it for its numismatic value as well.

Nothing wrong with 1/10 oz gold. I buy them regularly, I buy 1 oz Buffalos every other month, with a platinum eagle. P.S. Onfireguy store has the foams pre cut out and inside the cases, you don’t have to struggle with pushing out the foam and placing it in the plastic coin case.

Filming advice. Next time flip to coin end-over-end. Not to the side and then rotate. Why? Because flipping it end-over-end also helps viewers see if there's symmetry from one side to the other in the way it was cast. Also, slowly show the entire outer edge of the coin by pinning the center of the coin between the thumb and index finger of one hand, and slowly rotating the edge a full 360 degrees. Flip flopping and awkwardly rotating it doesn't show off the coin as well.

Love the color, love the purity, love the liquidity, but in my opinion (and we all have one) it is far from a beautiful design. It’s just a ripoff of the old Buffalo nickel design. Personally I think the Coin is very interesting . I am from Buffalo, NY however so perhaps a bit biased. That being said I agree with you. There are countless inspirations this country offers that can be gorgeously represented on our 1 oz. .9999 gold coin. Old glory billowing in the breeze comes to mind first for one side. The waves of the flag would suggest motion and give the coin a little "life" perhaps. For the other side, and I know its cliché, nothing is more American then head of the Bald Eagle. There is just much detail and people dont seem to get tired of admiring them. If not that, then lets just go with A Burger, Fries, n Shake on one side, and Bust of Ian Mckellan who played Al Swearengeon on Deadwood for the other.

I don’t have one yet, but I definitely want to own one someday. I have been stacking for a year now and have so far collected a Krugerrand, Maple Leaf and an Eagle, along with silver maples. I want to own at least 1 gold bullion coin of each mint. But I am most impressed by the Buffalo design. It really stands out from all the other coins out there due to its rough design. And many coins are ruined because they’ve all got the Queen on it.

You were almost there. Try putting the coin inside the black ring outside the plastic capsule. Then put it in the capsule. It's easier to squeeze it in the capsule with the coin already in it. I've wrestled with them in the past.
