Come to the mouth of the Connecticut River. My dad and I have caught 170 fish in 3 outings dating back to last weekend. They were mostly Hickory Shad, but they were blitzing on bait like these Stripers.

The first thing I noticed about this reel is its weight kzbin.infoUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable but it was a little heavier than other similarly sized reels. However, that didn't deter my enjoyment of how smooth this reel is. I spooled it with 20lb. Tuf-Line XP and it's perfect for what I use it for. I have it paired with an 8'6" Medium/Fast Okuma SST Salmon/Steelhead rod. The combination is perfect for casting and even drifting. I used the reel all day and didn't experience any arm or hand fatigue except when fighting a few fish! The bail is solid and feels strong when engaging by reeling and manually closing the bail by hand. The large rubber handle grip is very comfortable. It's got a powerful drag, silky smooth reeling, and feels very comfortable in the hands. I recommend it!

I've made my living off that water, fished that spot tons. I've seen fish breaking like that in 20 different spot's at once especially year's ago. I've seen blues and rock breaking at the same time. Also caught a few huge fish in the mix. As always, hello to all my Maryland fishermen.

On your second fish you could see the top hook that flew out of his mouth as you were pulling it up definitely not a snag. But when nobody else is catching any fish especially the older crew. They tend to get Jealous really easy. I know you're used to that by now.

Great footage man. Remember these are battle fish like if you catch a bluefish you need to gain control of it to remove the hook so you grab the fish by the back of the neck firmly by the gills to then remove the hook and you know a bluefish bites hard so you can not let him bite you. Bluefish are good eating.. Great video

Snaps are only recommended for saltwater or more aggressive fish that aren’t line shy. Makes it easy to switch lures and gives you more time to actually fish. Freshwater fish like largemouth bass should just tie directly
