In the next couple months, I think I am just going to go a head an build one of Bob's toothpicks. I would love to have a craft that I can fly right as I walk out of the apartment. My SailflyX (may it rest in pieces) was my courtyard flyer, just didn't have the range nor durability. Been watching fpv cycle equipment for a hot minute now, an have been holding out on my next build( lack of work/low funds). Wife wants me to build a long range, I would like to build a small fun flyer I can take out anywhere an not draw in a lot of attention. Really good job on this video! Just like most of JB's videos, it is always worth watching your content till the very end. Thanks for doin what you do!

I really like what you're doing. Flying longer has a real appeal. I personally don't think every flight has to be a death defying race with full throttle cornering and max speed straights. This little quad you've put together looks like it still has plenty of punch to fly around comfortably and do some nice freestyle. Thank you for putting this video out there. It's got me thinking about different configurations on my quad. And possibly building with the components you listed on the web page (I took a cursory glance before coming back to comment). Thank you for your vid and associated information.

About to purchase some stuff from fpvcycle and build one after being blown away by your vids and the geprcphantom hd as well as betafpv xknight 3 (bigger than toothpicks i know but its my first intro). Used to only fly big quads but by going smaller the lack of stress and noise and ability to fly anywhere makes for such a fun chilled out experience as you have said before. Stoked for the future of small/lightweight fpv thanks for all the innovation and information over the years cheers buddy happy ripping!

The great thing about having such a big battery is that normally, depending on cell quality, 1s gets huge voltage sag when flying it hard or going punchouts, 3.0-3.3v is very typical. This big battery can have MUCH less voltage sag so in turn even though it weighs alot more it actually has quite a bit more power because it was only sagging to like 3.8-3.9v under full load full punchouts which is amazing! And the voltage was staying above 4v for normal flying which also allows the motors to have more power and more torque to make sudden changes while your flying. The extra voltage will make up for alot of the weight because of how muchore power the motors will have with all that extra voltage! Obviously an experiment but very cool!
@Neukom720
@Neukom720 4 жыл бұрын
Obviously high quality cells can have less voltage sag even for smaller battery's, like FPV Cycles gnb 600mah 1s xt30 non-hv might only sag to around 3.5 under punchouts at the begining of the flight. Also I dunno About everyone else but I ordered like 50 xt30 connectors cause I'm diching all my ph2 connectors. The xt30 is soooooo much better I try to force myself to solder like 2-4 packs a day with xt30, cause I have alot of 1s battery's lol

I like the speed, I really like the space on the board. I'm gonna have to build 1 or 2. I've found you might get close to the same flight time with 3 batteries, it's a fine line between weight and more mAh, gotta find that happy medium. Of course you know that. Yeah, this is interesting again. Raised a little nostalgia about my old 2" builds with RacerStar 8000KV and 11000KV motors. Didn't knew about mini Crossfire antennas so far. Cool, want that. Adore that flight time I see. Maybe I will dare to build something like this too for next season. BT2 connectors are a way better for whoops and other sub-2" quads indeed. Converted our 75mm Mobula7 to them. Also local RC dealer already have 1S batteries with BT2 connector.

And it shows definitely ordering the 3s 450mah one. The parts and the videos will,be extremely helpful. Plus I'm looking for something quiet and stealthy. Living by a courthouse can be challenging.😁

I bought, and already have the new board. I have not had time to throw it together yet. The only thing I see that is missing is a spot to solder on a little buzzer. It is SOOO easy to loose these little guys and DSHOT buzzer is pretty much worthless with these little motors. Almost lost it several times. I do have a Buzzer on the TP3, and it is a lifesaver. Second is, how are you mounting your minimortal T? It almost looks like there are little nubbins on the arm, that you heat shrink to.

Yeah there's a minor update coming. Before people would just tape to an arm.

Hey Kabab, IRC noted on their site that the Atto rx takes 10 x 10mm of PCB space. I am pretty sure this could be shrinked down even further (maybe...possibly...idk). Anyways, this could be your answer to the built-in receiver problem since it will add an insignificant amount of weight and will be SO much easier to fly and setup. Something to consider!

Man I cannot express how much I love the babytooth - built one with the FAT pinch cam and immediately built 2 more with baby ratel 2 and regular pinch lol can fly them anywhere, safe, quiet, and fun. And truly a super capable micro for 1s I want to build one with an AUW of less than 50 but I really can't seem to do it. Any advice? Is this possible? Would gladly pay you for a kabob edition babytooth build 😏😏

There's many ways to save weight. Just need to be creative. I'm not a fan of the methods however because they reduce durability too. Check out shutterbug FPV. He does a lot of very low weight builds

Hello kabab woud really like to order stuff from your store but somehow the delivery to germany costs 36$ because it's send via speed delivery.. is it possible that you could implement longer Shipping Times so the costs go down. Would that be possible ?

Isn't that actually a 1S4P pack? Would be curious to see how it compares in performance to a 4S 600 mAH pack of the same size and weight. Endurance multirotors like photography drones tend to go for high voltage so I have a feeling the 4S would be better. The same amount of energy is in the packs either way (same amount of lithium battery), but the higher voltage can run at lower amps.

I get around 8-10 Minutes flighttime whith my 5" hex(also Use a runcam3s or a gopro). It has a homemade plywood frame becourse it was original a 5" quad and I buyed a extra Set of the Same Motors and Escs as replacing Parts. Becourse when i startet the Best Motors i can afford were the emaxmt2204 2300Kv and the flightcontroller was a naze32 (1.2k /1.2k max on cleanflight) In a Hex These Motors have more than enough Power and I Use a heavy 3s 2400mah lipo. I think it can Run on 4s But the Motors are ratet for 3s. I tested my old Motor whith a replaced shaft (i used some old steel axle) And it works fine, also the Motor isnt getting warm at all...

What is reason of this drone? I have normal 4s 3inch drone, with normal 20x20 30a flight stack, full size fpv camera, 400mw vtx and crossfire. that can freestyle, race almost as 5inch and have fligh 8-12min flight time with 850mah battery.
