I am so proud of you ladies Taking our African American history to a new level of things that we can do even if it happen by chance. God works all things together for good. Thanks so much for putting this story on youtube and sharing with us this great moment; since a whole lot of our African American history has been left out of the traditional American History books surely by accident lol; which is why it is important to us to document our own historical moments. Go ahead sistas, I salute you ladies. May God continue to bless you all.

YOU GO MY SISTER'S, When I was in the USAF I was stationed at Cannon AFB, NM, were there was a African American Female Pilot who came there after I had left the Base. Her name is Maj. Shawna Rochelle Kimbrell, she was in the 555th Fighter Squadron, flying the F-16 Falcons and she was the First African American Female Fighter Pilot in the United States Air Force! BTW...I have a African American co-worker friend who's Daughter is also a Private Jet Pilot...God Bless...you all!

I would fly with them and on ExpressJet any day. The fact that they are flying a CRJ-700/900 only means that they scored a perfect score on their checkrides. Being of any ethnicity doesn't matter. They are aviators like all of us. Don't let people tell you what you CANNOT do! Their hard work and study paid off! For them, the sky is not the limit. The sky is home. Fly Safe, beautiful aviators!

The fact that this got so little attention is a testament to how far we have come in this country. People look, say 'cool'. shrug and take their seats. No issues or ludicrous comments. Just another safe flight.

This is magnificent! I have a dear friend who is also a Black pilot for Delta. He graduates from the US Air Force Academy, spent his career in the military and had now been a pilot for several years with Delta! I'm proud of our Black professionals and pray it inspires our Black Youth.

While I applaud and appreciate the historical nature of this story, as a black man I cannot wait until it is commonplace. The media makes too much out of it. We have had all white crews for how long. In America, Blacks are still treated like an oddity when we achieve great things - like see they can do it. We always knew we could, now the rest of the world does too.
@CheckMate00000710 жыл бұрын
The mere fact that -some- many actually are so ignorant that if it is not announced they would convince themselves that there are NO black commercial airline pilots at all when in fact their are MANY and the youngest one started flying at age 19. (All you have to do is read enough youtube comments to realize just how ignorant many people actually are about stuff like this.)

That's so cool! I fly ASA often and have never seen any black female pilots. For that matter, in my almost 30 year airline career, I've probably only seen a black female pilot once or twice. I've often wondered when that would change. WELCOME to the ranks ladies, fellow aviators! As the captain said in the video, it took a lot of hard work to get there. You earned your position! I hope to fly with you one of these days!

I love that! I'm not being racist about this statement, but it's a given that there are white flight crews; it's an everyday occurrence. To see a black FEMALE flight crew is truly an accomplishment, and gives non-white little girls hope that they can do it too!
