Frank is like the BMW 7-series of the piloting fraternity - he has a proven track record of being the most stable machine on the job, has a lot riding under the hood but, isn't a show-off still. He is fit as a fiddle and cool as a cucumber when it comes to taking his job seriously (just the way all jobs are to be taken by the men/women discharging their responsibilities) even though it is quite evident that he can outrun other aviators with his tall professional credentials. To me, that pretty much sums up my drawing parallels between him and the top end Beamer. American Airlines would do better to request him to be the mascot on all marketing and advertising materials of the company and also the poster man for recruitment advertisements. Speaking purely out of my personal feeling, I think that would perhaps be a higher honour he could be bestowed with to make up for the water cannon salute that he couldn't receive; no real and fair comparison between the two there though.

Brought back many memories of my Dad's retirement from TWA in 2000. I was working at FlightSafety at the time on a TWA contract, and authorized to fly ACM as he flew STL-GTW on the 767. My brother, a SkyWest Capt., also rode non-rev on the way back. Mom was on board, and and my sister, a photographer and former TWA intern, took pictures from the jetway on departure and the ramp during arrival to capture the water cannon salute. A thrill for the whole family!
