commendation forms in public but not complaint forms... many don't know that anonymous commendation forms can actually benefit an officer, but anonymous complaints due to police contracts are often excluded from counting against them. This is why I often say we have a contract issue with police, mayors and city councils need to stop approving these terrible contracts.

Good. But it would help every auditor if during your spiel about who you are and what you do, is to mention that auditors hope to find no rights violations of any kind. Police like to brand auditors as troublemakers stirring the pot, looking to create a response, and initiating the contact. You told the nice ladies you’re looking to see what happens. Which you are. But in terms of public relations, I would convey that a lack of contact and no interaction is what we’re all striving for. Until then auditing is a necessary bulwark against tyranny.
