Hey party people! You're welcome for making this amazing vlog. haha I ramble on in the beginning about birthday stuff and mom life, but then I show you some stuff that I am planning for Meredith's mermaid birthday party! It's exciting stuff right there. And then I head to the kitchen to throw together dinner, which is a pot luck / chili cookoff if you will. I also throw together a delicious pumpkin dessert! It is a hit so five stars there if you're wondering! I also throw some teacher gifts together because they're so deserving, and inbetween I do some every day cleaning and laundry and talk to you about life etc. Hope you enjoy this normal average every day around the house happenings! Meredith, is at my favorite age. i’m a former teacher , mom and grandma .. and i wish she could be in your videos sometimes..You literally blow my mind with how much energy, happy, pep in your step, and how much you get done in a day, it is absolutely incredible!! you definitely are giving your kids a magical childhood!! you are a super special mom!! @@Maiju86 she has wolfgang in many videos. i’m not suggesting she plaster them up , i’m married to a detective, and not an idiot.. i was simply sharing she is my favorite age, as it was the first age i taught when i was in college. it is the age of my granddaughter now, and it is so fun! i’ve seen all of kim’s kids do cameos, i would never suggest or request exposing them! They are out with her all of the time and people recognize her from You Tube! The people in real life are often much more of a threat as they are close than people , in a mom supporting group all over the US!

My husband is a photographer ….you don’t need to tip anything. They own their own business and set their prices to what they want to make. If they just worked for an organization that is different because they likely make a fraction of what is charged, but if it is their business, no tip needed/expected.

I would 100% agree, birthdays can be fun and exciting but not break the budget over the top. As someone who didn't have a birthday party of my own until my husband (then boyfriend) threw me an 18th party, I definitely put in all the work for my kids. We make it a special day, but not so big that it's unrealistic to maintain.

Kim! Cornbread: 1 cup self rising flour, 1 cup self rising corn meal, 2 eggs, 2 tablespoons oil, 1 1/2 cups butter milk stir throw in greased iron skillet bake at 375 about 30 mins. Or until done. I’m not a sweet cornbread person.

I was a specials teacher (music) before staying home with the kids. Parents forget about us all the time, but it feels extra nice when someone remembers us! (Got lots of homemade pictures and notes from kids, which is the best anyway, so it worked out, but still, it's nice when we're not overlooked!)

Do teachers ever have a special parents day at school, to get to know the parents? No they have special meetings to talk to you about your child, called conferences. Where they are grading your child to the gov. standards. Not your individual child’s growth. Education needs a total overhaul! Teachers need graded on the job they do. 👍

When my kids were young we did a fall photos everyone wore white tops and beige pants. The backdrop was a beautiful fall scene of vibrant colors and they were so beautiful. Just a suggeston! Thanks for all you do for teachers ! I was the same way!

Casual family photos are always nice with jeans and a solid white top/shirt. Its something that you probably already have for each family member. Pick a casual setting, like a park or by the lake. Everybody will be comfortable and happy, which will make your pictures better as well. Save $, go simple.

I’ve totally done a “90’s” themed party for my oldest son as he got older he didn’t care about a big party anymore. It was just cake ice cream after a family dinner. It was great and he totally loved it! He’s now 17 and hasn’t done big parties for quite awhile. It’s a little sad but that is the season we are in. No more big parties but we make birthdays special in other ways.

I love wallpaper! Should you hire someone....? Yes and no. It's not hard time consuming. But there luxury of having someone do it heaven. We've done all our own wallpaper we've been fine with it. I still have my lilac wallpaper up in my laundry room and I love it everyday

We made some quick and easy pumpkin sugar cookies. I subbed eggs for some canned pumpkin and added cinnamon to sugar cookie mix. So easy! I made a cinnamon sugar glaze for the top.

My chili recipe is hamburger, a can of tomato juice, petite diced tomatoes, tomato soup, tomato sauce, beans, tomato paste, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder and I throw in elbow noodles to give it some bulk. Amazing every single time.

I think one of the best things you can do for your children is to help them celebrate themselves, and that definitely includes their birthdays. You do not want to raise one of those people who gets pissed off every time somebody says happy birthday to them or that they “hate their birthdays“ It’s extravagant compared to many but so what? U balance it no doubt and they are ur children and u r creating amazing memories. Enjoy the mermaidness.

The ONLY birthday party I remember as a kid was my 10th birthday party. It was a bowling party at the local bowling alley. Then I got epilepsy & from then on no one would come to my birthday parties (so I didn’t get any). My birthday was just opening presents from family, go to school, go out with my parents for dinner and brother/s when they lived at home. I soooo wish I could hold a big party but I have no one to come- especially since I moved house a few years ago and have no one to invite where I now live.
