We've got to go through the big game from Sunday, throw by throw and walk through what San Francisco did offensively in the 1st and 2nd halves. #sanfrancisco49ers #nfl #superbowl

Such a good video Kurt. Really showed how the play design / failure to "run the routes through" hurt the 49ers in this game

Kurt has great observations and insight on play design.

After the post-game comments of the 49'ers head coach not knowing the overtime rules, to watching this KZbin video, and the sequel KZbin video of the second half, I have much less faith in Shannahan as an elite offensive game-plan and offensive play designer.

I have one concern in all these breakdowns, you never talks about it down and distance which contribute most times where the QB wants to go with the ball

I see a problem with football intelligence on the part of some 49ers receivers. Not understanding how to run their routes completely so that result in proper spacing between and away from defenders and also how their routes are designed to through position depth and timing in combination with routes being run by other receivers to stretch the pass defenders to result in open receivers. They are just sort of just lazily driving through their routes will little concept of the proper route precision, speed and timing required to make the play designed route combos actually work successfully. This is great athletic ability nullified by poor execution caused by their collective failure to understand their roles in the bigger picture of play designs.

Possibly deebo injury was lingering more then what was led to believe, so cut his routes short not to risk injuring him self further. So as coaches yiu have to make that decision to keep him in the game or not. Or maybe he didn’t have the knowledge

"Not understanding how to run their routes" is on the coaches.
@ReidVV6 ай бұрын
@@disqusrubbish5467 Sorry, but "on the coaches" only up to a point. This falls under the "you can lead a horse to water" category. If you play this game at the highest level for some time at both the collegiate and now pro level as a WR, you cannot blame coaches for not knowing how to properly run routes and how route combinations work. That's weak. Shanahan's entire passing offense is based on the spacing of receivers (that is the relative positions and distances they are from each other and where they are on the field) and the timing of routes, meaning when they are supposed to be in a specific area. It's a straight progression read system...Purdy reads...rec option#1...then rec option#2...then rec option#3 with the receivers hitting their specific depths and lateral positions with the purpose of strategically moving the DBs to get receivers open and what each receiver's read order number is...1, 2, or 3, etc. You cannot tell me this isn't explained in practice in detail. I guarantee this gone over both on the practice field live and in the video review meetings with the QBs and receivers together and getting on the same page. You cannot run a pro passing offense without this. Thing is, players need to DO the things they SHOULD KNOW that they should be doing for the thing to work.

@@ReidVV Do yourself a favor and go to Kurt Warner's YT and see why he thinks Pure Progression is a bad idea and makes a quarterback's life harder than it needs to be. Then look at his breakdown of the 49ers Super Bowl offense - every pass play - and see where your "spacing of receivers" falls flat - not because the players aren't running the routes, but because some of the play designs are flawed.

10:50 That bullsh*t Kitttle big play that got called back on that ticky tac holding call on Trent, yet Bosa gets mugged & tackled right in front of the ref and it's a no call. That could have been the game changer to go up even more in the first half.

I’m thinking deebo was hurt so basically trying to conserve his self as much as possible so if he didn’t get the ball he was prematurely ending his routes
@frankyi82066 ай бұрын
JT O'Sullivan has been harping on Deebo's lack of effort on these types of routes all season. Basically he's been saying (paraphrasing) "Nobody is more dynamic with the ball in his hands, but when he's not the primary he's not giving full effort" then showing plays and asking "Does this look like full effort? You tell me, but I have a hard time saying that he is"

Are you gunna adress all the holding? And maybe go into how a 1st down goes back to a 1st down after a 1st and 10 run of 2 yards break that down. One play whole o line of chiefs was holding 3 holds on one play. Its fake! N...ow F..ake L...eague!
