Wow! I've heard a lot of stories about the Voop and how fast it was. Most say it couldn't have been as fast as it was claimed to be. This video has evidence to the contrary. I see modifications on that boat that are used to this day, and some that people have missed. Thanks so much for putting on this video of a legend that I was always told to be fiction! Great video, what a blast from the past!

@tibbetts2345 according to louie stuart the voop was clocked by a radar gun at 72 mph. the video shows within 2 seconds. i have no more footage. sorry i took so long. i just got internet. thanks for showing my video.

How fast was the voop going in that video and do you have anymore old race footage??

no way in hell it was clocked at 72.... the video i would say 55 tops. look what it takes today to get foolish pleasure to do over 70. 72.8 is the foolish pleasures offical record and the pleasure has done 77.3 in eastport last year so its just hard to believe that he even did over 60 back then with now where near the setup that galen has. I wish the voop was still running and with same motor and set up as he ran back in 89 or what ever abd i bet pleasure would leave him like he was sitting stil
