The eagles locking together is part of their mating ritual!! That’s a great sign for the nest!! Them breeding in the area is good indicator for where they are comfortable raising babies!

I was just about to write the same thing. Lock together as high as they can go, and then they spin towards the ground, and just before they hit the ground, they separate. This may last for a few days. Truly a once in a life time thing to witness.

It can also be done during territorial fights, which would also be a good indicator that they will be breeding in the area. Though, stubborn ones can get into a fight and refuse to let go. It doesn't end well for those ones, typically.

For crows, if you give them tasty gifts (like peanuts), and you make sure that they see you set the gifts out for them, eventually they will start bringing you gifts in return. A neighbor of mine did this for a few years, and she got all sorts of random things, usually colorful or shiny things; like lighters, coins, pens, batteries, etc.

the crow sounds from Re4 Remake actually started playing in my head when I dropped in the replies to this comment! 😂😄 and for those wondering it's a game that features crows that iconned their bird of death identity but in real they're such smart and resilient birds. am anxious to see how Bama gets his groove with the one(s) out at the Crimson Oak they've been inhabiting his five acre as far back as I can remember. probably as long as it's been there he's always had them and stoked to hear he's going up north for some small mouths. Such a gorgeous fish more known for their vertical stripe markings and after seeing the largemouth(s) on the turtle cam did you see how they were circling the cove where the turtle made his little entrance. literally looked like great whites at a seal colony. where they'll circle repeatedly bass do the exact same thing even dart into the shallows like the juveniles. their behaviors are so identical it's 🤩unreal 😎 as for the small mouths I hope he films his trip up there and shows some top water action like he's done in the past at the world famous Bama Delta and few other places he's fished. So cool that he'll be introducing them to 🤩Cedar Falls 😉 Can't wait! 😎

Being someone who doesn't fish, visit ponds, or do anything exposing me to wildlife, this is one of my favorite things to watch. I generally go for engineering/maker channels here and Id love to see Destin of SmarterEveryday do something with you or get you onto his No Dumb Questions podcast with Matt. The engineering projects you do around the pond are really interesting, and would be interesting to hear you talk about more in depth with these guys. 😊

The eagles were doing a "death spiral" aka cartwheeling. It's a pretty impressive way to court one another. Basically it's like playing chicken with your dates, if that doesn't convince them that you are the one they want to be with, it's hard to imagine what will 😅

The blue Birds are checking out the eagle nest for a reason. If the eagles make a nest there, the blue birds will nest under the eagles. The eagles will provide security for the blue birds. During the winter months, the female bobcats will cluster, for protection and for hunting until mid January when they pick a male to hang with. I've seen as many as 8 females bobcats running together and hunting together. Bobcats have no fat reserve so they have to eat at least every 3 days.

Those eagles when they fly up and latch on, it’s a playful act but also that’s the way they act during mating season and getting ready to build nest. I watched them in Alaska many times fly way up high could barely see them and then freefall with talent attached to each other spending spiraling down and then just, 50 feet off the water break separate it’s really cool.

I really enjoyed your video. We used to get underwater views like that snorkeling and flipping rocks over in the Lake of the Ozarks. It always surprised us how quickly the fish lost their fear once they saw a few crayfish darting out. Bass, sunfish, bluegill would all swim right up to us waiting for us to find them a snack. After awhile, they seemed to get used to us and start hanging around as soon as we got in. Especially, the Green Sunfish. They had no problem swimming right up to our masks. Looking forward to more of your videos.

I recently found your channel (your last video was my first) and its incredible to see the wildlife around your property! The eagles spiraling is a great sign that they want to nest in the area and claim that territory. They are definitely cautious around the new platform since it changed so quickly but I think theyre just making sure that no other eagles live there (they might think other birds built the nest).

Regarding the 2 eagles latching on to each other. I was on a Disney Alaskan cruise in June on the Disney Wonder Cruise Ship. On June 14 2024, as our ship left port in Juneau, a dozen seagulls picked some kind of food out of the bay in the wake of the ship as we pulled out of the dock. As I watched, a bald eagle swooped in and circled the area. A minute later a golden eagle flew in and circled the bald eagle, the met in the mid air, locked feet together and spiraled towards the water. They fell about 50 feet and let go of each other about 10 feet above the water. The golden eagle flew to the other side of the bay. The bald eagle plucked a fish out of our wake about 30 seconds later. It was incredible.

I think it's bc they have a very high standard for video quality and also like having enough time to live and enjoy everything. I think bama was an electrical engineer before this so understandable.

I agree however the quality and family friendly nature of the content definitely make it a treat when a new video comes out. God bless America and God bless the bama bass family. Aloha from Hawaii. The ninja

For your cormorant situation: since you’re in Alabama, depending how close you are to the Gulf of Mexico, chances of you getting high numbers of cormorants becomes less the further you are from the bay. That also means the further you are from the bay the less of a chance it’ll stick around for long. This is a Double-crested Cormorant you have here.

Here in Ontario, Canada 🍁 we had a population explosion of Cormorants that were ruining the habitat of many lakes. Finally our government opened a "hunting season" for them, in truth it was a regulated cull. Sportsmen of all stripes were pleased with their decision!!

Eagles clasp talons together as a normal part of courtship. They also drop and catch sticks with eah other in flight. By the way, preparing their nest with sticks and branches is a major part of courtship so your preparations whoch include leaves and small stuff may not be recognized as a proper nest. Excited to see what happens.

You should make the pond more biodiverse, pickerel would be cool and flat head catfish or bullhead.

Love what you are doing! I am not professional but here are my thoughts on a couple things. 1) Eagles were mating. 2) Yes, they look to be a family of bobcats. Looking forward to more turtle cam.
