I run 2 of the DB 270 series 12s on Avatar 3500.1 RMS and built box to my design and size just past 2.55 CSF and tuned around 26-28 hrz and let me tell u the bass they throw blows minds and anything close to them...best believe I'm getting the new series as soon as I get the funds saved witch won't be long

@@ninja-vanish8086 the Sundown lovers will hate to hear this but this DB sub would win pound for pound. Yes the ZV5 is more efficient however this sub will shine better for someone who can't fit multiple subs with gobs of power. Sundown subs can't take more than double the power for long periods of time like this could. I've seen firsthand how that went for X, Z, NS, U series in demos. That's why they smell after 30 seconds or so at full excursion.

Don't these small side holes on dbonce voice coil give a cooling port. I've always thought that every time coil goes up sucks in air through the small side holes and releases air through the small side holes. It's like a piston only if the holes/ports were bigger without crushing coil form

@Jay Vog yes most definitely! Deaf Bonce makes some really powerful amps & their Brazilian series amps are very budget friendly! You should check them out online. Both the Brazilian & Korean put out great rated rms power. Google search the Deaf Bonce AAB Series amps (Brazilian line) & the AAK Series (Korean line) Deaf Bonce amps. The AAB 7900 amp is what I've had my eye on for the past couple weeks its $649 on most sites & puts out 7900 rms @12v & 8100 rms @14v. Everyone I've talked to who has DB amps have sang high praises about both series. Haven't heard any negatives to date.

@Jay Vog sorry I 4got to answer your question Idk for sure how high in power the DB amps go but I know they make a Deaf Bonce 12.900 watt rms amp. So you could pair that amp with 4 of the 3512 D2 subs I guess depending on how you wired the subs. Idk probably be better to run two amps & put one on each pair of subs but idk for sure your goals or what ohm you want to run & I'm not a car audio pro by any means. I'm just a guy that loves music & bass.

I have been a big fan of u JP and I have never heard you talk about rockford fosgate.... I have old school rockford subs the Punch hx2 & Power hx2 .. 3 " coil & 4"coil ... Quick question, when they measure a voice coil do they mean the width of the voice coil or how long it is

It is the diameter of the voice coil, NOT the "height" or length. Just look at smaller subs vs. larger subs... and see how the voice coil size is always smaller than the full sub size... and the coil will never be wider than the main cone. An 8 inch sub may have a 2 inch coil, the 12 inch and 15 inch subs will have larger coils because the whole sub is larger. They might make the coil height the same as the diameter but that can vary significantly based on the motor structure and possible excursion.

How heavy is the Apocalypse db3512? Can't find the info anywhere. Currently running 2x Skar Audio EVL 12s on 2x Ignite R3000/1D in a Q Bomb 4.5 cu ft ported box, one Odyssey Extreme AGM 31 (in addition to the stock battery under the hood), stock alternator. I think it's probably the best budget build around, but I'm looking to upgrade. Would run 2x db3512 in a custom 6th order with more AGM batteries, 370a Mechman, and Taramps 12k (with fire extinguisher).

dang bro that is gonna be a sick build, I have a single zv5 15, but I'm now fantasizing about these DB, currently thinking about 2 of these 4518's for my s10 blazer. The main selling point for me is the massive voice coils.

@@nakulah the also have the high roll surround instead of the fat roll surround which allows more cone area and same excursion. Real carbon fiber dust cap and cone. I’m putting 6 strapped at 1.2 ohm on 2 DD audio m5’s. So each amp will seeing approx .6 ohm. With my charging system that should give me 3500-4000 watts a sub as long as I don’t rise to much. Check out my last build. Type in Savard hair tricks. It was doing a 160 with 8 pretty cheap 12’s. $279 each. I think those 18’s are the way to go for you. I researched and compared everything out there and I truly believe these will np be the best subs available for the money. That’s why I’m waiting on them. Big Jeff car audio in Ocala Florida is supposed to be getting the 12’s first week of may. Not sure on the 18’s. They ship anywhere in the country.

Atleast for every day music listening it doesn't seem to make sense with all that mechanical noise. Just get a dayton audio rss12 or 15 and it should be plenty loud for daily use. Free air it sounds like my dad's 2cylinder diesel boat😅
