The couch looks so comfortable and functional! I have a recliner couch and I love the power seats. Thanks to Barry for finding it 50% off! There is nothing wrong with finding good solid furniture at thrift stores. I shop at Goodwill for clothes. Saves me a ton of money! Too much fun! Just tOOOOOoooo much fun U 2 R enjoying! Isn't it nice 2 have 'community help'? Years ago when I was young and not married several couples or singles were asked 2 help a young couple with a young child 2 move into their new home. It took us a looooong day of WORK! At the end of the day we were being fed via a barbeque of hamburgers etc. We were tired but happy to have worked as a team. We were talking over the days events when someone said; 'Nothing like a 'community' move eh?' and another young man piped up saying; 'It felt more like we were MOVING A COMMUNITY!' We all burst out into laughter, as truly...they had many items to place. All was blessed. Thanks 4 sharing dear ones...health and God Bless! P.S. Gotta say that each item you bring to your 2nd home R undoubtedly 'blessed finds'. Glory be to 'Him'! :) Go Barry!

We have this kind of sofa/recliner and love it. We’ve enjoyed ours for about five years. We would never want to be without one. The extra special thing about the third seat is that the two of us hold hands as we watch television.

The furniture looks like ‘This End Up’ a furniture company out of NC. My mom had that kind of furniture back in the late 70’s. The company is still around too! Btw I LOVE the color of that sofa!!

The desk and the end tables are called upside down furniture. My son’s bedroom set was bought in 1995 - and still going strong. Unable to destroy at all…best furniture we ever bought!

Elizabeth, you may know, but I wanted to mention a product called Old English scratch cover , it’s just a liquid polish , they have one for dark wood and one for light wood. I did hear you say Bill will refinish the wood but in the meantime this inexpensive product can bring a lot of life back. I thrift wood items frequently. Sometimes I end up not refinishing Happy Home settling- looks great!

It was a great buy going in with your son and daughter-in-law. A thought, whitewashed end tables would be great in your living room; to give it that beachy touch. Good Luck. It is the fun part moving in... When I moved into my Florida home I has sparse furnishings. One love seat, one table with two benches and two fold out beds on the floor until I could go furniture shopping. Got to say it was fun .

Squatters are becoming an issue all over the country. And a nightmare to remove. I would consider live internet cameras so that you can be alerted immediately if someone isn’t supposed to be there. The sooner authorities are notified the easier it is got get them removed. Ask me how I know…. Spent 5 months and thousands of dollars to get a squatter out of my property.

Aww, this whole video made me smile, from beginning to end! Yes, that couch with recliners at each end is beautiful! And those lamps are so pretty. I can see why you would treasure them. And you're right, the color goes perfectly with the walls and couch! So cool, that your son found that couch, at such a good price! I, too, like finding furniture at Thrift stores and such, and yes, it's almost always, more sturdy, and higher quality, than what's made now. Years ago, when my daughter was in junior high, we found a desk for $20. It, too, is solid wood, and it's huge with a long drawer above the knee hole, and 3 large drawers on the side. When we got it, it fit perfectly in a space in our dining room/computer room/plant room. She used it happily. Flash forward a number of years, she's off to college, and we get a storage shed/cabin. It has a porch with 3 windows at one end. And that end is my space to work, or just have some quiet time. And amazingly enough, the jut out space, with the 3 windows is the exact perfect size for that bargain desk! It's so good to see you guys so happy, and Elizabeth's giggle says it all. And once again I had a huge smile when you sneaked in your kiss! ❤ I love you guys! You exude such joy!! 😊

My mother got a new living room suit last week. It doesn't have any of the electrical amenities, but the sofa has a back in the center that folds to make a console with two cupholders. I thought that was so cool. The loveseat has a permanent console between the seats. Each end of the sofa and loveseat recline. Plus she got a matching recliner. I just wish the recliners had the swinging lever instead of the lever that pulls out. The other style can assist in closing the recliner.

I think you bought some This End Up furniture Elizabeth - your desk and end tables. I've had that furniture and it's pretty indestructible. His bedroom set lasted my son's while childhood and now a friend's son is using it. Many colleges use that brand of furniture in dorms because of its ruggedness. It's easily refinished as you mentioned. Enjoy it!

So happy for you snuggle bugs. My mom had exact same desk, she loved it. Painted it white and had the short hutch top which didn't even need attaching. When she passed, our daughter used it until she moved to an apartment with no elevator just stairs. Really hope Florida is a tremendous blessing for you.

I enjoy watching you get your home in Florida like you won't. I love my couch with the electric footrest and USB. I was dealing with cancer and knew I couldn't put the footrest down. "cancer free now" thank God.
