In my experience having traveled all over the USA living in a travel trailer, your experience in Georgia was not unusual. We had the same kind of wonderful experience after break downs in Nocona Texas, Sabetha Kansas, Spokane Washington, and Crawfordville Florida. Americans are generally really great people.

Just a blessing. God bless all those folks who helped u. I went to get my transmission fluid changed this weekend. The truck started making noise on the way to the shop. When I pulled in Corey from the shop asked me to open the hood and antifreeze was everywhere. My waterpump blew. They were so helpful. In 20 mins they gave me an estimate to fix it and fixed it in less than 2 hours. I was so grateful to the mechanics there. If anyone is in corinth, MS go to Express Oil. They have a 4.6 rating for a good reason. God bless them.

Praise God you are safe and your truck was repaired. Haven’t been able to watch you lately. On November 12th I had a mini stroke. I was supposed to go to my mother’s in NC and take care of her and my brother. Of course I couldn’t go. On the 18th, mother (91) and Brother (69) were both admitted into the hospital. My brother had just gone through throat cancer and lung cancer. He had a seizure and he is now in a long term nursing home. Mother went into Hospice and passed on Dec 12th. Just asking for prayer as my sister and I go out to clean the house out. All the memories will sure to come back. ❤

I’ve traveled many miles with a heavy truck camper with my family and no matter how new your rig is or how you try to make certain everything is in the best shape possible things will always happen. Just like you did, you just have to overcome those obstacles and push forward. I’m glad it happened in such a great town and you made it home safe.

When you see the bad things happening in the news every day, your experience helped restore faith in humanity. I believe that there is more good than bad in the world and that the bad are being exorcised. Your adventure was also a testament that God looks after his children. God bless and pray for warmer weather for the rest of the country. It is extremely cold here in East TN, but we haven’t lost power so far.

Good to see so many nice people popup out of the woodwork when you are in need of help. Last time I broke down, that was just the same for me. There are so, so many wonderful people also here in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

Glad you made it safely! Years ago, i heard a sound like a stone stick in the hubcap. I didn't think much about it, drive about 450 miles that week, and on the way to visit a boyfriend sbout 79 miles away, i wad on the turnpike, hearing the now familiar stine in hubcap sound when all of a sudden, i felt panicked and knew i had to stop right away. I pulled off the hubcap, and the hub of the wheel was in the hubcap. That had been making the noise, not a stone. I didn't know ehat to do. Sone state workers were in yheir utility truck and stopped to help me as others whizzed past. They knew of a licak garage abd took me there and had the guy tow my car. They asked what made me stop, and i told them i felt i HAD to stop right then, so i did. The tow truck driver let out a low whistle snd saud, "Somebody's watching over you. Another mile, snd this wheel would have rolled right off the car." Ignorance is bliss, eh? This was before cell phones or the internet, and I was so grateful the state workers were willing to stop and help. The towtruck driver was also the mechanic, and he ended up knowing my boss, 35-40 miles away. Small world. A neighbor came to get me so i wasn't stranded. I gave thanks, because the situation could have been so much worse. I have never forgotten the kindness shown me in thst situation.

My wife and I know what you went through. We were staying at Fort Mountain Campground up near Chatsworth Ga., and we had our Granddaughter with us, as well as our two little dogs, when one morning I went out to start our diesel pick up, and the check engine light came on, and the engine sounded like a metal bucket full of rocks being violently shaken. I won't go into all the ups and downs that we had trying to unsuccessfully find a good diesel mechanic around that area, and we had to vacate that camp site, so we just hooked up our fifth wheel and headed down the mountain, even though our diesel had about 1/3 the power that it should have. We continued down the road toward Atlanta at a slow speed, when suddenly the engine quieted down and ran smooth again. The check engine light went out, and the truck ran like new all the way back to Tallahassee Fl. where we live. I later replaced several parts including the fuel control actuator which was the most likely suspect, and it's been fine for years now. So we know the feeling that comes with being broke down, and complicated by having a couple of little dogs with us, not to mention our Granddaughter. That panic that enters your mind, and you ask yourself, "now what are we going to do?" We put ourselves through a lot of anxiousness because of fear, and we should always remember that things could always be much worse.
