I have this tent. I put it up in my drive and ran the hose over it to test it before I took it camping and there was no need to waterproof it. It's been great in several rainstorms and strong winds too. I love it!

Good to know it can handle a water hose, Thanks. Seems like a great tent so far. Can't wait to try it in deep snow. Thanks for watching!🤝

I own this very tent! I also bought the inner mesh for mine. For the price of both? You simply cannot go wrong! If you seal this tent properly.... You will have a lifetime of use! This tent is well worth the money. I highly recommend! 🤘

The awning is a great feature and even better that it's adjustable

Awesome tent and stove set up. I think it will serve you well. Your so lucky to have such a nice place to camp plus being able to drive up in your car and canoe is a bonus. Enjoy your rig

Thanks! Camping in that spot is rare. It is usually full until the snow flies.

Ahhh great video! Quite a bit of space in there. I like that you can stand up at least. Haha I can’t believe they put the flap roll at the bottom! So weird! Looking forward to your winter excursions to see how you like this. Enjoy!!

Thanks! I thought the flap at the bottom was weird too. I like that there is less chance of burning it down there but worry that it'll create a leak point. All the snow and rain will collect there when it's in use. Love the amount of space in there though.

I'm curious if vegetable oil spray could be used as a moisture sealer? Its somewhat close to this chemically. It might not look beautiful but I'm thinking it could work. But would like to hear some other thoughts on this? Back in the day they used oils from animal fats. But maybe some kinds of vegetable oil may also work similar? It would be fun to also just banter with you on all kinds of gear questions and things to in the future. I'm sure things will come up. And many people are becoming more interested in this kind of stuff now especially because the economy is going down. So they are forced to look into new ways of living. /// I'm curious how much wind the middle tent pole can take? Some of us live in windy areas. But as a fix if you had duct tape while camping you could find straight sticks and brace them against the middle pole.
@Anndyinthewoods11 ай бұрын
The center pole is pretty sturdy. I think it could handle quite a bit as long as the guy lines are kept tight. In the event of a break you could also cut a strong stick to replace it

I'm curious how long a lot of these cots for camping will last for? When you go buy one, you need them because waking up with no cot your back hurts. But if you get one you want to know it will last. Curious on thoughts from people about this. /// Another thing I hope you might cover is how to do like distilling water with homemade kit etc? This could be either for camping or for at home. And part of the reasoning for this is that the water systems seem to be getting either sabotaged or messed up all over the place in the US and Canada right now. Whole areas multiple states, and counties, have contaminated water.

Not sure how long the new cots would last, our cots were handed down to Ann from her parents. They used them when she was just a little girl.

do they have a bigger version of this> the canvas one?

I don't think so. The bigger ones are nylon I think.

Excuse me, sir, didn't anyone ever teach you not to cook in your tent? Those dang Canadian bears aren't hibernated just yet and may be inclined to come over for dinner 😂 looks like a successful first run with the tent. It will be interesting to see how it works with both cots and a stove, though.
@Anndyinthewoods Жыл бұрын
Both cots will be a tight fit. As for those Canadian black bears....I always have bear spray under my cot! 🤣🤣🤣
@chado_outdoors Жыл бұрын
@@Anndyinthewoods they really gotta pack the weight on right now, so they might just use that bear spray to season the meat 🤣🤣

I have the same tent and never waterproofed it. It’s been in rain and held up just fine. I do wish the stove jack was a bit bigger as the flap must be totally secured otherwise it will get damaged.
