I love tengu format but it just has obvious best decks, I like March 2011 format pre extreme victory, before tourguide tengu was released there were a lot of competing decks chaos plant, xx sabers, miracle gemini, six sams, dragunity, GK, etc.) that was a good time in yugioh Frazier you topped 16 YCS charlotte I remember reading that top 32 feature match where you otk’d with Trident Dragion with 100 life points left crazy ass shit !

So yeha herald of perfection is almost impenetrable in this format except for BLS(and to an extent JD) being 3000 attack inherent summon. The only other out is caius chain blocking herald(if u have reborn tengu out or dandylion/sangan, then tribute them for caius make caius chain link 1 then tengu/dandy/sangan as chain link 2, herald of perfection and ash blossom can only negate the last thing on the chain)

Conveniently herald gets hard cucked by thunder king since it relies on searching so much(as do all ritual decks) manju/senju/sonic bird/preparation of rites/agent of mystery-earth/etc

Red dragon archfiend is a 3000 attack generic synchro that can run over herald, but absolutely no deck runs him since extra deck space is tight with xyz being legal

And like nobody sides anything for herald, like the d prisons in this guy’s side deck arent gonna do anything to a def position herald thats never going to attack and be useless vs master hyperion thats gonna pop your traps, lance only lowers attack doesnt help run over herald’s 2800 def. DD crow does nothing. MST does nothing. Even leeching the light isnt great cuz u have to summon monsters then leeching, so u go neg 2 from hand card advantage then herald negates leeching and the monster u summon is essentially wasted resource, since it cant run over the herald without the leeching, so it turns into a 2 for 1 and when u go neg vs herald, thats just guaranteed to be a losing battle.

Did some investigations and it seems to be 2 Agents, 2 Plants, 1 GK, 1 TG Stun, 1 Hero. I dont find anything about the 8th deck

I’ve been saying it’s the zombie deck of tengu format. In Edison zombies plays 20+ 1 ofs too, which is scary because it makes it very hard to predict how any 1 game is going to go

I dont like spirit reaper main deck if the most represented deck is chaos agents(all the inherent summon boss monsters out reaper except kristya)

Maybe he was talking about a different team sharking james but he also did say in his vegas recap video that there was "sharking and foul play in the finals and no one did anything about it" (of 3v3 ulti time wizard) so idk what that is about ​@imnerdpodcast

Curious to hear if 3 lights in the main deck was ever an issue for sorcerer and BLS?

BLS does double as a 4th light sometimes, but usually w/ formula + armory I had enough; it may sit in your hand when you initially draw it but you can play towards summoning it

when I was watching there were times where he would have them without a light, but then he'd do a play like reborn scrap dragon to pop his own sangan and search veiler, or make an extra deck monster to get the light. I could definitely see the light count being an issue if you don't get to use your extra deck but in most games you do, so it shouldn't be an issue often.
