There is a reason why Stevie Ray Vaughn was called "The Magician"....RIP the world misses you.

when i hear this, and having heard Lenny, and knowing that the last conversation he had with Chris Layton after Alpine was about how he, Stevie, seriously wanted to add brass, and just all of the changes he wanted to make and risks he was ready to take after his few short years (since childhood !!) of sobriety -it’s just heart wrenching that he died when he did …and ready to get married to someone with whom they had decided create children💔

You can close your eyes all you want, sir! I closed mine, too! LOL! Stevie Ray Vaughan was electrifying! Good, Lord, the things this man could do on his guitar!!! You can't help but react! By the way, we don't have to be a musician to "feel" the music. If a performer, like Stevie Ray, can move our souls, then we know and understand and appreciate good music. This man was a super hero and a musical genius. I'm so sorry that he was taken from us too soon.

I always liked his songs on the radio but when I heard this Concert on Austin City Limits the first time I was hooked. I waited for months to hear it again to record it and fell in love with him and Double Trouble...then shortly after he died in the tragic helicopter accident !!! Not sure if you know this or not but the night of the crash Stevie had QUIT partying and he gave up his spot on the jet and flew on the helicopter instead and it crashed during heavy fog...SO TRAGIC !!!

Actually he’s from Dallas Tx. He actually slept with his guitar when he was young. His guitar was part of his body. 🔥🔥 Your doing it right close your eyes and let SRV & Double Trouble take you wherever mind feels like going. I was lucky enough to see him 5 times because my older cousin worked at some clubs. So I was only 11 but taking guitar and violin/ fiddle lessons . This song doesn’t get the praise that his “ dirty hard R&B , jazz and soul music does. So glad you listened to the other subscribers. 🔥🔥

When he recorded this song in the studio Stevie requested that the lights be turned down, he sat on a stool & turned his back to the people there, later he said "my guitar was saying a prayer, that's the only way I can explain it".

Hap as you know Stevie overcame lifelong dual addictions and almost died. He entered rehab and dedicated himself to overcome and stay alive. He had a lot to live for. It was a challenge but he was so proud of his hard won sobriety. In this video you can see he is wearing his two sobriety rings. His brother Jimmy and his band mates also went through the program and his brother said "Stevie showed us the way out". He dedicated his last few years to helping others to overcome helping encourage them that they could climb out too. He still inspires people today from his example. He wrote this most beautiful love song for all people who are still suffering in their addictions. It is to soothe and inspire. It is to feel the arms of love wrapped around you to give you strength to bear it. To give your hard painful edges some healing balm. To show you your value. To show the way out and why it is worth it. I have never been an addict but I can see the suffering and this song brings me to tears with the enormous outpouring of love from this borrowed angel of a man.

Stevie never met Hendrix bc he was 15 when Jimi died. He did ask for permission to do Voodoo Child and Jimi’s family gave him his Wah Wah. Stevie wrote such a beautiful song which was underrated bc it was jazzy. At that time soft jazz was booming everywhere. It’s Brilliant! WHO would think a Texas blues guitarist could produce such perfection? This is a spiritual experience. We lost a gift from God when his helicopter crashed 1990. We still miss him terribly. RIP❤️🩹 SRV🎸

See SRV could play the hell out of his guitar and make it scream but he had the beautiful touch and make it sing the most tender sweetest notes that give me gooose bumps still after 30yrs. Miss the brother 😪

The first time I ever saw Stevie play on video I was immediately struck by his most intimate and very personal relationship with his guitar. From age 7 he was hooked and never separated. He called his iconic scruffed guitar his first wife. She embodied his first love. He said she screamed for him and not at him. The question of whether or not Stevie played the guitar or the guitar played him is really a moot point. They had a symbiotic relationship of equality in my opinion. 🎶🎶🎶

Stevie's most beautiful composition. This is the loveliest song he ever played. I fully understand why you listened with your eyes closed. I did, too. This is one of those "Close your eyes and ride on the magic carpet" songs. Life Without You is my favorite performances by Stevie; this song is my favorite song of Stevie's.

Long hard week at work. Go to happy hour and play this on the juke box, and let everything melt away. Somebody would always send me a beer and thank me for playing this song. You should try listening to chitin's cone carny, on the sky is crying. Kind of jazzy.

Got that right! DEF not to take any bit away from Stevie, but Chris, Tommy, and Reese just knew exactly how to mesh with Stevie’s style. They really were a phenomenal package! Edit: As a side note, ever sit in amazement at the crazy alien length of Reese’s fingers?? Lol Guess that’s why he can do what he does. 😜

A beautiful masterpiece! They said he was a phenomenal person after he got clean he never missed aa na meetings. He was always helped others. His nephew Tyrone is a great guitar player not uncle Stevie good though. They didn't have a set list. The band had played together for 20 years! This song at Capitol Colliseum in New Jersey is just as beautiful. Keith Urban stole that lick from him. He's a awesome artist and singer. I'm a guitar player amongst other instruments 🎵 song. I enjoy your channel you make me smile and laugh with your laugh!🎸😀this a cover I believe I'll have to find out. Thanks for keeping 💯 for SRV'S 🎶music 🎶 Hap. You're awesome 👌 👏 !

If you like this vibe of song, you should really check out some Santana.. “Samba Pa Ti” “Song of the Wind” and “Victory is Won” all have similar jazzy sounds and tempo. Not sure if you’re familiar with Santana or not, but he’s also an amazing guitarist with a very unique style AND one of the sickest bands around him of all time. You should react to one of those.
That's not his guitar your hearing it's his soul ❤

This was the greatest reaction to our SRV ever brother. So good. You are the man Hapz. All your SRV reactions have been awesome actually. I seen Stevie perform down in New Zealand in the late 80'. His Mrs at the time was a girl from NZ. Can I please give you a reaction song of a NZ artist called Stan Walker live with the Levites doing his version of Amazing Grace. It looks on the face of it as something you wouldn't want to touch but I promise you Stan will change your mind on that and show you something amazing to the point where your entire subscribers will be so pleased that you reacted to him I promise you that. And because you do blind reactions without the fake bull crap, I know it will be an awesome one for you to do. I promise you will thank me for it hand on heart. If you'd rather try something of a more mainstream song from Stan instead then react to his version of Kanye Wests song called Ultralightbeam live with the Levites again. I have subscribed coz you are the man. Axe...🎉🎉🎉
