Reese Wynans really got to shine in this video and showed how he could truly compliment Stevie Ray's music! ❤

After Stevies passing everytime i listen to this song i think about if he had not passed the music he would be playing today. The piece shows the jazzier direction he was venturing into and this song is masterful.

That guitar is "Lenny" given to him by his wife, Lenora and a few friends that purchased it for him cause, it cost more than he could afford, at the time. It's the gutiar that he plays "Lenny" on, dedicated to his wife.

This song is stunning, just beautiful. It makes me sad that Stevie Ray Vaughan is gone. And even though this lovely tune is mellow, it stirred up emotions within me. When SRV was pulling at those strings, he was pulling on my heartstrings. How kind and humble of him to dedicate the song to those who are suffering. I think SRV was clean and sober for a couple years when he did this song. And the keyboard player is Reese Winans. The band was very much in tune to Stevie Ray. Great team!

This was both, his final written composition and last track on his final studio album (In Step) before his passing. It’s also his final performance from the brilliantly produced show called Austin City Limits. Should just review each song from this episode. Audio and video supervisors along with the show’s crew are Top Shelf, as was his entire band. 🍻 Here’s to a great artist and a finer person. God rest his soul…

Thank you for revisiting SRV❤️. Absolutely no one else speaks to my heart and soul like he does. In my opinion, I would rather watch him than anyone else!!! This guitar is named Lenny. His former wife, Lenny, and some of his friends threw in to come up with the $350.00 to purchase this guitar from a pawn shop for his birthday. It sold at auction a few years ago for approximately $653,000.00. From what I read, Guitar Center in Austin owns it and prominently displays it in their store❤️❤️❤️

While Stevie played Number One/First Wife on many songs, it wasn’t exclusive. If you continue down the rabbit hole, you’ll notice a few guitars. It always sounds like him, though.

Don’t hesitate to do the same song from different venues because he never played the song the same way. You’ll get a totally different experience. An example would be Tin Pan Alley featuring Johnny Copeland is imo even better than the Tin Pan you reacted to from Capitol Theater. Also, Mary Had A Little Lamb from this same Austin 89 concert is amazing. There are still lots of SRV reactions left for you to do!!!

If there is ANY compositions, both lyrical and instrumental, that Stevie Ray covered and/or penned but never got to release .. I wish somebody would make contact with his brother Jimmy and discuss putting together a box set entirely made of unreleased material. Any 'never-seen-before' videos would be awesome also. I'm assuming Jimmy has custody rights to all his/their music. Anyone who grew up with the Vaughan brothers and still has a relationship w/Jimmy .. I HOPE YOU SEE THIS. Jimmy's 73 and life is ticking by. Just one of many, many fans! T.Y. RIP Stevie Ray ... RIP🌹🎸

I love listening to many different guitarists. David Gilmour is great. Of course, Eric Clapton is legendary. Jimmy Page has always been a favorite of mine. I could mention more, many more. They each bring something unique and special to music. Stevie Ray Vaughan, however, is my all-time favorite. It's like coming home. No guitarist touches my spirit like he does. I feel every note in my soul. I really can't explain it any other way.

Stevie had a style all his own. Another great guitar master who is very much missed. Check out the duo SRV did of Pipeline with Dick Dale. You might want to check out Dick Dale as well who was a left handed upside down guitarist. While you're at it, have a listen to Gary Moore. You will love Parisienne Walkways. 😊

Stevie had several guitars, some with stories behind them, most notable the one called "Number One" or "Number One Wife", that beat up strat with finish missing. Also, the story behind the "Charlie", his white strat which was made especially for him by Charlie Wirtz. He uses it on the song "MIssing You" and he does a spoken message that was really special after he collapsed from alcohol and drugs and got sober....special!!!!

If Someone accuses SRV of "Only" playing the blues , play "Riviera Paradise " for them to shut them up . The story of the studio take that got on the album is in itself amazing . The band had been working on the song all day & couldn't get it . One take to slow , another too fast etc. The engineer had kept tape rolling through out the session & they try again and this time they are On It ! But the reel of tape was running out & the engineer knew he had the take , but would they finish up before the tape ran out ? He gets drummer Chris Laytons attention finally & signals to him to wrap it up and they do so just in time as the tape ran out right after they concluded that take . Sometimes Luck smiles on you 🙂

A Little something more. - What Clapton thought of SRV's playing during his last few days: “The worst thing for me was that Stevie Ray had been sober for three years and was at his peak. When he played that night, he had all of us standing mere with our jaws dropped. I mean, Robert Cray and Jimmie Vaughan and Buddy Guy were just watching in awe. There was no one better than him on this planet. Really unbelievable,” Eric Clapton said.

#1 wasn't used for everything. Different guitars have different feels and uses for what an artist is trying to evoke. I feel like if Stevie had played a toy guitar, it would've still sounded phenomenal! Reese Wynans was the keyboardists name. I believe he's still around playing with Joe Bonamassa

SRV is a phenomenal guitar player/singer but have you heard Gary Moore? He is the true GOAT. I've been a musician since 1963 and have heard many of the greats live including Jimi Hendrix, BB King, Jeff Beck and many more. IMHO - Gary Moore is the undisputed G.O.A.T. The greatest that ever lived. Here's the proof - something that I think is the greatest recorded guitar performance ever recorded.
