This is the 1st time in many years that I have attempted to raise my own queen. Here I show you my process of making splits, removing queen cells from the cell builder and placing them in the new splits. Hopefully things will go well. We will see!

This kind of joy makes for the romance of keeping bees and outweighs the realities of the hard work it takes to get there.

Yes. There is a lot of satisfaction when things come together. Just hope they are viable, get mated and turn into nice quality queens.

Thank you for the EZPZ queen rearing and protection video. You did just fine in the way you were handling those cells. I pretty much buy 9 day old cells from several commercial beekeepers in my area over the years. Any grafting I usually traded a half a days work for three bars put into my cell starter to take home that evening. Enjoyed your live stream team presentation the other night.

You ever try the metal bound queen excluders ? Ive tried those plastic ones and they squash alot of bees and restrict the movement terrible for the workers. Three problems with them. They lay flat on frames(no ⅜space, the slots are opposite direction of travel, and they are alot of small hole slots.The metal bound dont seem to hinder the workers at all. I know they cost more but i think youll find them alot better
@brucesbees
@brucesbees 5 ай бұрын
Yes I have a few of them. The metal ones are better but so much more expensive. I have had good success with the plastic ones. But yes I agree the metal ones are better.
