Maya is 4 months older than Cocona and they have been childhood friends for a long time. Jurin and Harvey have also been friends for a long time. Their parents are even friends. Jurin and Harvey met during their modeling days. Jurin and Harvey were very popular in Japan even before XG. So much so that other trainees that trained to be in XG had known of them. Hinata had seen Harvey on TV even before she met her.

Harvey is Japanese Australian. Jurin was also a Model just like Harvey. XG's Juria covered Hello by Adele on their 1st World Tour. Cocona's sample was Surround Sound JID, Maya's was Down Bad Dreamville, Harvey's was I Won Ty Dolla Sign, Jurin's was Saoko Rosalia.

In an interview, Cocona said she got into rapping in the 3rd grade, listening to Lauryn Hill! The sample in her Tape 2 part was Aretha Franklin, first used in Mos Def's 'Ms Fat Booty' then later for JID's 'Surround Sound'. JID gave Coco a shout-out when she went viral. She pays mad homage to Jay-Z in her Tape 4 remix. Although the girls were born and raised in Japan, XG's main core BTS is actually American. Manager and producer Simon (JAKOPS) was born in Seattle, WA. Main songwriter, Chancellor, is a Korean American. And main choreographer, Sienna Lalau, is a Somoan American from Hawaii now based in LA.
