Grand Design just fixed our Upper Deck Flex last week. Our local SRT fixed it at our dealership. It took them one week to fix ours. We have the 2020 momentum 351M

That's a bummer. I have seen this numerous times with fulltimers. Its a perfect storm with a minimal strength frame design the rig being totally overloaded from the axles forward.

Our 2022 Grand Design Solitude 310 has been to the shop a total of four times since last year. It's currently in the shop for the past two months for water leaks. This will be our last Grand Design..

From what I've read so far, the RV Manufacturers send the frame manufacturers floor plans and layout but apparently do not provide load/weight data. I hope someone will correct me on this if I am seeing this wrong. I know they're trying to keep weights and costs down but this has crossed a threshold into very dangerous territory. Those frames apparently need to be much heavier and stronger to support the weight being piled on them.

Sorry about you GD frame damage. You should get in touch with Geoff the youtuber of My Bucket List Day. He ia going through the same issue and GD did a deplorable job for repairing his frame and is now waiting for GD to repair it once again! Sounds to me GD needs to recall these substandard units. Of course GD will do everything possible to keep you happy but the damage had been done. Hope you have better results than Geoff. Personally I believe GD went cheap and now it has caught up with them. Wonder if Todd and Shiela are having any frame issues yet? Enjoy you videos!

Whenever Ford tells me they've begun production of our new truck, we will order our next toy hauler. The Momentum 399 is one of three choices we have. But with several Grand Design frame problem videos I've seen in the past month, I just can't justify giving them our business. They had such a stellar reputation but it seems lately, they've tried to cut costs and now are just resting on their laurels. Once your reputation is trashed, it takes a long time to change that.

Good luck with Ford. When did you order yours? I ordered an F450 a year ago and it never got built. Ford told me i could reorder but i already bought a GMC since i was never going to get the F450 in time. I agree on the frame problems. Is it a Lippert issue or the way GD is having them build the frames now? There have been quite a few videos with frame issues especially on the rear kitchen Solitude lately and it seems to be a kinda new thing. It does bring up some questions in my mind for sure. Personally after really looking over the materials and craftsmanship i have never been impressed with GD, they do receive a LOT of hype on social media but i just have never seen it. After really looking at them i scratched them off the list of brands for us to consider.

@@TDub_ADV I ordered the F450 July 17. That was the first day you could order a 2024 model. It was scheduled to be built October 9, then October 30, and today they're saying November 27. Oh well. Darned strike. We are going to GD, Alliance, and Jayco in November. But unless I see and hear something amazing from GD, they won't get my money. But I'm giving them one shot.

@@jamesmclamb3682 I hope they get it built for you. I ordered an F450 Platinum in Oct 22 when they first opened the order books on the 2023’s. I never got a build date. Like you they just kept kicking the can down the road and never built it. Lots of other folks that ordered platinum, king ranch and limited trucks were/are in the same situation I was. I was finally told in July that they were not going to build my truck and that orders do not roll over and i could order a 24 and get back in line. When it was looking more and more like it was not going to happen I bought a Sierra Denali in June…. In the price range you are looking at you might want to check out Brinkley too. I have only seen one in person myself but i thought the craftsmanship was better than the three you listed for sure.

From what I've heard Lippert is sending out frames that will not hold-up to 17k lbs plus "SuperRigs". Only designed for light use and soft roads. I really feel bad for you and so many others who got sold a Big bill of goods. Quarter Million I bet? My magic 8 ball call see a class-action in your future! I am curious about your borrowed rig...I know that one of the first things we did was remove all the stickers we didn't need as they were unsightly. Yet, your borrowed rig (from a friend?) still had stickers on it-like showroom ready. And who has a brand new mattress still in plastic? Look, if GD is loaning you a rig, be honest. I think we're being played here.

I can’t believe I once thought Grand Design had potential. They should be embarrassed by the quality of the products they put out. I can’t tell you how many people I know with issues just like yours, and they all have a CRAP DESIGN rv as well. At this point, my next rig may be foreign or a custom build because I have absolutely no faith in any new rv product America puts out.

I had a new 2019 Grand Design Reflection in 2018. It was a lemon. Non-stop problem after problem for 3 years until we sold it. Customer service sucked. They only pander to owners with social media channels. All others are ignored and put on the back burner. The rig was poorly designed, shoddily assembled, and worthless. My advise is cut your losses and run. The hitch frame failure is a known problem. Any fix is temporary because the structural design is flawed. Just being honest. Good luck.
