October 2014, a super rookie group MADTOWN enters the K-Pop scene with their debut title ‘YOLO’. MADTOWN is the next boy group of agency J Tune Camp, following their first group MBLAQ which debuted 5 years ago. MAD TOWN is a talented group that has gone through some heavy preparations for the best vocal and performance skills.
The title song ‘YOLO’ is by producer Shin Hyuk's Zumbas Music which has also produced some of the hottest pop and K-pop hit songs like pop star Justin Bieber's ‘One Less Lonely Girl’, EXO's ‘Growl’, and Shinee's ‘Dream Girl’. Although MADTOWN is a rookie just making their debut, the members participated in writing the lyrics, rap making, choreographing, producing, and overlooking the general album production, boasting their musical talents as artists as well.

Because the industry is sat to only cj&m allies and associates to prosper. Since cj&m had dominated kpop industry for so long and big part of Korean media too. Cj&m companies distribute for other companies their events (from awards to TV shows) promote who they find convenient to. When Mnet used to say (don't know if still do) "we are kpop, Mnet" It was shady but also the truth. Don't kpop stans mostly only respect the groups cj&m promote (go to mama or whatever more cj&m companies invented) (?) Anyway, I believe that is the a swear for ur question.

The song wasn't bad and their performance was done well. I've already seen people try and compare them to BTS and GOT7 but I think they have their own style. Yes, I know they said that they want to be the careless GOT7 but their style reminds me of modern day hip-hop. Where as BTS's "concepts" are more of a dark, edgy hip-hop and GOT7 is closer to modern hip-hop but it still seems like a k-pop song. When this song started I almost forgot that this was a Korean song and expected to hear English. I love BTS and like GOT7 but these boys aren't GOT7 nor are they BTS so stop trying to find similarities.

i got some BTS and GOT7 feels here. I hope they find their style in future releases. I'm quite tired of a lot of debuting "hip-hop" groups. edit: Not in a bad way though, I find this group really interesting, coz I enjoyed groups like them, but not yet outstanding at this point, I'll keep an eye on them for sure.

O-O Everyone say they get got7 and BTS feels. I'm a big fan of both groups. I think of BTS's debut as underground and hard hiphop, while Got7 was American, upbeat style. I prefer BTS's style though, hehe. I think Mad town is going in more of a YG direction. I got Ikon feels!

They're actually quite different if you think about it. They all have different music styles. BTS just goes for a more edgier look I guess? While got7 is more modern, idk with these guys I just can't rly connect them to those two.

The MV for me, very BTS feel, and GOT7, well the acrobatics. The song though, has different feel, but is very common in hiphop debuting groups.

Ive been fan from got7 since the beginning And i like madtown as well As i went deeper into madtown I DO NOT see any similaritys at all You guys always judge on the music style But music style can change u know people thought GOT7 was an hiphop group while they are still exploring what fits them as you know "A" isnt hiphop I just wish they could both shine in their own ways ♡

it's not like that... they gonna debut early but Got7 debut first... so MAdtown see they really have same style and concept of Got7, they really didint expect that.. so they move their debut days. so at the interview they say "I think we are gonna be free spirited got7"...to make it clear, they really don't expect Got7 have some style like them also, but got7 appear first. sadly it's to late, people now comparing to them.. and saying they have same like that, like this, copying, no originality, etc.

I have never had the want to watch and listen to Kpop but I happened to see Jota in the Judo episode of CKOTB (which I also happened to see) and I fell in love. I was curious as to what he does and saw Madtown... I still don't like other idol groups but Madtown's songs and choreography warmed my heart. They are the only idol groups I listen to.
