@wulaeofthetengu83362 ай бұрын
He meant that no one wants to hear a rapper that's already at grandpa age start a rapping career like he's been doing for years and feels like he's entitled to respect from everyone. Pete and Bas get away with it because it's their schtick, and they lean into it. They embrace their age. Benzino didn't. He thought he was some freshman for some reason after sitting at a desk at The Source forever as he tried to sabotage up and coming rappers, and thought he could immediately go after Shady to ignite a rap career. It’s extremely difficult to overcome the kind of trauma Eminem dealt with as a kid, saying folks in his situation have no excuses makes light of how hard Em had to fight to be a great parent. He ended up with substance use disorder, just like his mom, but he made it out the other side and that’s not easy. He made mistakes too, he speaks of the regret over actions he took towards Kim. But something inside Em made him slam on the breaks and stop perpetuating a cycle of abuse. Nothing about Em’s life has been easy and many if not most people in similar situations would *not* come out the other side alive, not in prison, and someone we see as a great father as well as a great artist. *Eminem is the exception, not the rule* That’s why Em’s made songs like this - he knows the odds of him being where he is right now were extremely low. His best friend was murdered ffs. [edit: I’d left out the word “not” in the first sentence of this paragraph, which changed the intended meaning completely] We know that the life Em was born into usually leads to very different outcomes because our society has the same attitude as you do. Our society really needs to make having empathy for all our core ethic.

This isn't just about Eminem’s career, it’s about his journey as a father which is his real spiritual purpose. From battling family trauma and facing endless hate, to being a desperate young man just trying to provide for his daughter, not to mention overcoming drug addiction, every struggle he endured was for her. When he broke down after receiving that card from her, you could see where his heart truly is. That moment wasn’t about rap, fame, or critics-it was about the pride and emotion of knowing he succeeded in what mattered most: raising his daughter. Rap was merely the tool he found and used to give her the life he fought so hard for. That's the emotion that this video captures, of showing that his greatest accomplishment isn’t in music, but in being a father. I cried when he cried man... there's nothing more beautiful in this life than in seeing a man raise his daughter right. Beautiful music video, beautiful song, and beautiful end to a chapter in both their lives.

I lost my very best friend, February 27, 2020, my father to his battle with addiction and he left behind 3 beautiful kids and a beautiful wife. His favorite rapper was Eminem, I remember him blaring with the best systems you could have in your car, all of his albums. Bonnie and Clyde was our jam, bad meets evil album was on repeat for years, going through changes was one we really resonated with because we had gone through so many times where we were so close to losing him.. When Houdini was released I almost lost my mind because abracadabra was one of my dad’s favorite songs lmfao and Eminem went and remixed that shit and killed it. When listening to this song and somebody save me, I get chills because I truly feel like my dad is talking to us through Eminem. The vulnerability and the message, something my father rarely showed and something I truly needed to hear. 4 years flies by and I haven’t listened to music because it hasn’t sounded the same since I lost him, but I listened to this entire album and felt him with me. I love you pops, Em killed this shit fr.

I think nowadays the mom's are more to blame for this than the dudes, atleast in my experience/opinion. Me and my little sidekick were inseparable for the first six years until mom decided that those 6am-10:30pm shifts I worked (to enable me to have more days off at home) were the perfect opportunity to advance to the next tax bracket and started roster scouting via free samples to her vagina.

Hey I’ve got some really great news to share with you, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on a cross and resurrected on the third day so you may all have eternal life. If you believe and repent of your sins and put your faith and trust in Him as you would a parachute jumping off a plane at 25000 feet up in the air, He will give you eternal life in heaven as a free gift and I promise you, He will change your life forever as He did mine. He is the ONLY way to heaven and He loves you all. Please think deeply about this with urgency because this is your eternal life and soul, you don’t know when you could die, meaning you could die at any moment, so please consider this with all your heart. If anyone tells you that Jesus isn’t the only way, they are lying to you and they don’t care about your future.

The fact that this man Doesn't show any emotion hell he barely even smiles. But to put it out there for the world to see his vulnerability shows just how deep his love for his daughter is. Combining the video with the lyrics of the song make a clear message: This was Em's way of saying his job raising her is done and she is a fully developed, great person with a family of her own to take care of now. He doesn't want her crying and despairing too much when he dies. He would rather see her focus that on his grandson/daughter and her husband. He will always be there watching her. It's incredibly sweet and I think it has some unique emotions intertwined that men and fathers can relate to.

Two weeks later he was gone. Ever since then, Eminem has been a form of guidance for me. These songs he wrote to his daughter have helped me get over my father's death.
