For anyone wondering about XP rates, I went to work and forgot I left it running for an extra few hours, so it was running about 11/12 hours and I came back to level 80 from level 12. So it’s definitely great for afk xp farming. Also make sure to hold a looting 3 sword if you have one

hint piglins will always come out the east side of a portal and sunflowers always face east so plant one see what way its facing thats the side you want the water conveyor on

@@MrPigeonnn it will work the odd time north to south facing but youll get less piglins and it will break needing to have water or snow reset to keep it going, i use the sun flower to see what side is east then build accordingly if you do they will always come out that side and the odds of it breaking are much lower

Wanted to mention that for anyone who doesn't care about the XP or the looting drops, you can cut out the Trident killer and the item sorter altogether if you drop the Piglin to their death from a high enough distance. They will only drop gold nuggets and rotten flesh in this case. The return is considerably lower, but you can keep it on all the time with no need to turn it off. Very useful if you only care about the gold and plan to be multitasking within the same loaded area.

For anyone who wants to build this in a cold biome (i.e. snowy taiga, frozen ocean, ice peaks), here's how to prevent the water from freezing in the water system: - make sure that the block that you place the water on (on the far left side) is a dirt block. If it's not, replace it with a dirt block. - after you've placed the water, place a seagrass. You can mine seagrass with shears. This will prevent the water from freezing

If anyone is wondering how the sorting system works: The redstone torch locks the hopper connected to the dropper. Stackable items generate a redstone output of one. Non-stackable items, golden swords, in this case, generate a redstone output of three. The comparator 'reads' the redstone signal, and transfers it to the dust next to it. So when there's a stackable item in the hopper next to the comparator, it only lights one of the redstone dust. Therefore the redstone signal is not strong enough to reach the repeater below, and turn off the redstone torch. If there's a non-stackable item in the hopper, however, that generates a redstone signal strong enough to reach the repeater and turn off the redstone torch. This unlocks the aforementioned hopper, letting the item pass through.

If you're building this near a Nether Highway, it's a good idea to link a dump portal in the Nether for any piglins that don't stay in the Overworld. I didn't set a dump portal the first time I used this farm and I lost over 100 levels of XP (I was AFK for about 10 hours) because the farm portal in the Overworld used one of my Highway portals in the Nether as an exit. I teleported into the Nether using my normal Highway entrance and there was a swarm of angry Piglins waiting for me. I was dead before I knew what hit me.

Things to help: if piglins are not spawning its probably because your in a superflat or your in peacful, if the portal isnt lighting then only place one lava and have blocks ontop of the trapdoors, hope that helps 😀

Could be fun once rhe auto crafter block comes out in 1.21 to make an autokelp dried block farm and run the gold swords through a smelter for extra ingots. My only problem now is the baby zombie piglins that are spawning in the bottom for some reason

Pretty solid design and a nice easy build, could use some tweaks though because some gold nuggets/ingots and rotten flesh get sent to the trash side and a few swords make it into the storage chests. I followed the design exactly except for powdered snow to break the portal instead of water and funneling into a smelter instead of dropping on the ground but either of those shouldn't affect the item sorter at all. It's not very bad though, it's only happened to me a couple times in the last half hour or so. It might become a problem during a really long afk session but shouldn't be a problem otherwise.

I figured out that you can make a second one right beside it, on the right side BUT it has to be 9 blocks instead of 11 long, all you’re doing is just building a second portal and breaking machine, then hooking it up to the main lever. Works great 👍

A really good tip is that to collect the xp stand against the hoppers facing the chest and you will get xp faster and if you are getting some swords in ur chests it will just be a few swords like about 5 or 4 per 15 to 20 minutes. And put ur difficulty to hard whenever you use this farm also if you don’t want ur trident to despawn set ur chunks to 10 or the highest you can go. This works in bedrock(CONSOLE). Have Fun 😊

If a piglin won’t spawn, check a couple of things. Obviously you’re not on peaceful or have mob spawning off. The issue I had was that my portal was linking to my main nether portal which was pre-built and blocked off in my nether hub. You need to create the 11x11 far enough away that it spawns a completely new portal. It helps if it’s in an open area too

Don’t know what stage you’re at but with an elytra I’d just go a couple of hundred blocks away from your nearest portal as every 1 block in the nether is 8 blocks in the overworld, meaning only 800 blocks away is only 100 blocks away in the nether

Confirmed to work on bedrock realms 1.20 with one lava bucket. Place the single bucket on the spot farthest from the water dispenser. It will only work this way. It is slow as you are getting nuggets mostly and you need to convert. But, with the exp you are gaining you should put hopers connected to chest on the dropper below and take all those swords you are getting rid of that have enchantments and combine the enchantments to give yourself a new golden sword. Then dump the rest! 😎

Thats what I do. I have all the swords go into storage and then melt down the regular one first, then take any enchanted ones you get (unless you want to keep them) to the grind stone and get extra xp. Great for when you need to heal up your equipment and don't want to have to grind for awhile to get the xp.

THIS IS THE FIX FOR SORTING: Put a barrel in place of the hopper that goes into the wall. It will sort the items from there. For much longer fuel time for the blast furnace: attach a hopper with a chest on top to the left side of the blast furnace and fill both the hopper and chest with buckets of lava. It will last much longer!

Same for me. Every few swords would go directly into the chests and eventually would clog the whole thing. I couldn’t figure out why it was only happening sometimes. Anyway you just have to replace the dropper. I did a column of hoppers as to prevent extra clogging as each sword was smelting down about 10 hoppers down in a furnace connected to another hopper connected to a chest.

yes, but dont enter the portals or else you cant because then the top portal will be connected to the main one and you just waste obsidian.

i wouldnt say this is the "best" gold and xp farm. the portal isnt max size and there is only 1 of them. you should be able to run 4 max size portals off a single trident killer which will get you level 30 very quickly.

I used your concept except i have 6 22 x 22 portals and i have a massive chests and hoppers routing to for gold and flesh. Then i have another massive routing of chests and hoppers with 20 blast furnaces for swords with enough length to not worry about a backup of items. I kept having to go back to your video for the sorter. Im still not even 40% understanding it. 😂😂 But i have your exact one at my base for display and this one is my workhorse. Lol

For the sorter, the hopper below the comparator is locked with the redstone torch. When a non-stackable item comes into the hopper, it will produce a signal strength of 3 behind the comparator which then powers the repeater and powers the torch (turns the torch off). This unlocks the hopper below the comparator to pull the non-stackable item. Stackable items like ingots and rotten flesh only produce a signal strength of 1 at a time. Long story short, comparator strength is 3 on non-stackables and will unlock the hopper to pull that item down. Otherwise that hopper will stay locked and never pull from above.

For the obsidian just make sure you have a nether portal diamond pic and end chest if you are in keep inventory then no end chest is needed go into the nether break the portal place all items in end chest respawn go back into nether with end chest items and you have a new portal repeat

Okay, I suffered from the same problem and finally fixed it, so all you wanna do is rework your redstone. Check to make sure the repeater is facing the right way or a redstone torch isn't interfering with a hopper

What I did to fix it was make sure that the two hoppers that don’t face anything by the trident killer are filled with gold swords

I figured it out. The problem is the hopper below the blender is pulling items before they move on. Drop the hold sorter down by one using only a hopper to connect the blender and its 100%

The machine has 3 parts. The portal The blender and the sorter. The top 3 *4 then he changed it* hoppers are the blender. If your sorter is putting swords into your box it is because you put one of the hoppers under the blender that is not part of the sorting system. It's why he changed one of the 4 hoppers in the blender up top to a solid block. Only one hopper should be drawing from the blender.

A simple fix for this without needing to modify the build, place a single gold nugget in the empty slots of your chests, that way only more gold nuggets can stack on top of them. All other items will eventually sort themselves through the system.

If you are going to build this farm then you must place 2-3 dobble chest and connect shorting system and further connect furnace so that gold swords can smelt automatically and swords meat and gold nugget get separated IF IT IS HELPFUL PLEASE 👇😊
