I work on the scissor lifts and I'm not sure I've ever seen one where the motor turns on when it's going down. Generally a valve just opens up and the hydraulic fluid bleeds back into the tank. Probably something with that is why the motor started making noise.
@dingusbingus85542 ай бұрын
That's what i'm thinking. It probably drops so slowly because the pump is spinning while bleeding pressure. Almost like he didn't know what he was doing!

He purchased a double acting pump instead of single acting. Double acting reverses flow so it can create force to retract. Single acting just drains cylinder into reservoir but relies solely on gravity to retract it. Double acting works fine in this use its just goofy slow and of course draining the battery unnecessarily lol. But yeah he used the wrong type pump.

I'm a full-time fabricator welder, have done all forms of welding and with mig it may seem easy but there are sight tricks you learn that help. -when mig welding you push the weld, so aim the nose towards the way you want to weld. -if it sounds like sizzling sausages, you're doing well. -keep the nose about an inch or bit away from the weld. -clean the steel before welding as the weld sticks better and doesn't look like sh1t. - if eve stick welding, full cover up as that shit gives you 3rd degree burns like a mother fucker, I should know, I fucked my shins once. -going slower is usually better, so if you are turn down the wire feed a bit so you don't drown the weld making you go quicker. Love your vids, and everytime I watch you weld or do any type of metal work it makes me laugh a hell of a lot. Keep up the amazing videos, love seeing when you upload

You could have saved a lot of time by just pouring some water in the bottom of the hole and then the quick set with the posts and then add some water to the top of the quick set. There is enough moisture in the ground to help set the rest of the cement. I've done decks and fences this way and have never had any issues. deck posts on my house have been goin 16 years now no issues. As for the scissor lift it shouldn't be using the pump to bring the lift down, the solenoid should just release the pressure and the oil should go back into the tank.

You can absolutely weld galvanised metal. You can weld through rust, and oil, and paint and other metal. There's what you SHOULD do, and then there's what you CAN do. And aside from welding non ferrous metal, you can pretty much do anything. For every "mistake" you make you'll weaken the weld. So if you weld paint or gal it'll be a little weaker than if you clean it, but still plenty strong for 99% of applications. If you weld paint with the setting too low and not enough gas and your wire speed is too low, it'll stick, but a little tap with a hammer and it'll break right off. Basic rules for farmer welding. Get it as clean as you can, as close as you can, and weld as hot as you can, and it'll do.

That's a double acting hpu on a ram cylinder. You don't need to run the pump to come down. It just lowers using gravity, so you need to wire it/break the remote so the down switch doesn't close the motor solenoid contact (while still activating the holding and directional solenoids). That sound was probably the pump being angry and cavitating because all the oil leaked out.... also it looks like a flow control at the cylinder. Turn that knob out to speed up how fast it drops. Only a bit though, because it could just straight up drop and fuck shit up. But it'd make great content...if no one was on it.
