That wasp decision was great! Forced him to go mustang and triple tech them. Would have cost quite a bit for him to do that. I’m not sure I like siege mode scorpions. You did well to pull back into that game and keep the pressure up. Well done mate.
@WhoopedGG23 күн бұрын
Thanks, bro! I thought going into Siege Scorpions was a clever move. Combining it with Assault was pretty cool to see. I don't know how often I'll get that card but when it comes up I kind of want to try it.

I think one of the biggest differences between this game and last was the usage of your specialist. In Game 1 you had air spec, but you didn't utilize it (may have been the reason for his mustangs, too). Without that use, it was more just dead weight than anything else. In this game, though you didn't drop any big beefy bois, you had those thicc scorpions dropped that just soaked up so much damage the whole game. Hopefully in Game 3 you utilize your spec!

Having a starting pack that suit your style is often more important, specialist and hp are secondary concerns
@someguy438423 күн бұрын
@simontollin2004 I think that over a longer game, entering the 8-10 round range, a good spec can really make the difference. With air spec, for example, having air units as well as the advantage of saving roughly 200-500 gold on average over the course of a game, can really make a difference. It's why Orange Man is such a good pick, he gives you a huge advantage in both economy and firepower.

Nice come back. Is it me or was the flood of chaff & EMP storms the clincher in this game?

EMP feels so good when it works

Nice game overall. I would have sold out of the sledgehammers a bit earlier. I'd rather have a unit of chaff going into Arc/Scorpion than sledgehammers. Your wasp response forced his mustangs. Great job single teching them and letting them be chaff once he committed.

Yes, I definitely should have. Would have been a nice boost to my economy, especially due to the amount of shields I put down.

Can i ask the thought process on the stangs on turn 3? He didn't have anything that they really countered. Was it mostly just to shore up flanks and potential for AA/AM? I ask as i would have gone crawlers and i saw you consider that but pick stangs instead. Wondering what i am missing there

It was to develop my core composition more so than countering an early round. I had an idea of what I wanted to do (Mustang Scorpion) and I was just working towards it.

Pretty sure stony threw by selling off his phantom rays. Even if they died ti wasps they were tying up your mustangs for ages, without them you started dealing a ton of damage with them.

The Phantom Rays were a pain in the beginning that's for sure

Why don't you use Air units often? Most of your games recently seem to follow the same mechanic with the scorps and ground focus early on, it's fairly predictable especially at the start. Can I ask that you try to use Burst, Splash, Cloak and *choice tech* on Phantoms and try to bumrush the opponent in one game? Just see if the idea has some relevance and if it could be a viable strat/ cheese method. I would not recommend range though. This would probs be funny with Subterranean crawlers, Worms and the cloaked phantoms... short ranged and in your face. Your first match against Stoney was easily winnable if you weren't so ground focussed, especially with your opponent going vulcans and storms. I'm not trying to judge you, I'm just stating that the strategy didn't seem very flexible or adaptable... as if you went in with a preset notion of what you were gonna do, and Stoney was just prepared for it. I enjoy the videos, but it's like you're forming a habit around certain units. I know about the challenges you do, but this isn't one of them, right?
@WhoopedGG23 күн бұрын
In game one, Stoney had Marksman with Range + Elite and ranged Mustangs behind that. I don't like the idea of going air there. I had the composition I wanted (except for Marksman). I felt good about my board into his. I had two key problems: (1) I didn't shield the right side and (2) I didn't have a few Marksman. Stoney is a heck of a player and I'm not saying I would have won, but had I not messed up the shield--and especially had I not messed up the shield plus had a few Marksman, it might have had a different outcome. He might have been prepared for it, but I also was prepared. I just didn't execute the last part of stabilizing, which was having some Marksman. This is just my opinion of course. If I never made mistakes I would never lose :D And lmao to your question--no this is not a challenge hahaha And yes, I'll try Rays with Burst, Splash, and Cloak :D

@@WhoopedGG Thanks, and thanks for responding, although I don't think it was necessary in this case. You can read and disregard my comments, it feels like I've been spamming as of late. This feels especially odd now that you've responded to the newer ones and now we're on an old vid again (makes me feel more asshole-y🤣). Backseat driving sucks, and Backseat gaming probably even more so, so I apologise for both myself and others like me who appear to be trying to "educate" you, a top 500 player... it's ludicrous. We appreciate the effort and the entertainment, and tbh, that's enough. It's one thing to want you to succeed, and another to force you to do so. I will say that honestly, you played the Stoney matches a lot differently compared to your normal games we see, even the ranked ones... this really got to you, idk if it's Stoney's fame or what, but you seemed overwhelmed by the opponent, and not their strategies per se. As long as you keep playing and enjoying yourself, we'll be here for you... We're here for WhoopedGG playing Mechabellum, not a no hit run😅 *And sorry for the essays, I'm not good at keeping it short and sweet.

Not just in Mech, but in regards to any competition, a lot of people make excuses when they lose because losing is vulnerable. I do my best take accountability for my losses. I might explain why I lost, but I try to never make excuses. And it's tough. I try to hide it a bit, but I'm a little competitive. So the hardest part for me in a game like this isn't reading the comments, it's knowing I didn't play near what I'm capable of.
@jasonrouse821523 күн бұрын
@@WhoopedGG This might come off as a bit weird... but play a game intoxicated or stoned... like when you REALLY can't play to your full abilities. It's nice to occasionally take a step back and evaluate yourself under different conditions. That really puts the normal "you" into perspective. It's what allowed me to enjoy games like Apex. Being essentially crowd controlled AND still doing well in a game really is a nice ego boost. If you ever feel down, just remember that people that really are down, are the happiest peope alive. Idc how messed up that sounds, it's true. Happiness and peace come from within, not the comments section... but we can try to at least be positive. Thanks for the responses, it's been a great day so far all things considered. Hope you have a wonderful day/ evening and that it will just keep getting better!

Scorps do so much damage it's not always important depending on what you want them to do
