1VD PIEZO Injector Testing

Usually, we encourage our clients to work through the data on the scan tool to get to a point where they can confidentially isolate failed injectors without the need to test. Sometimes testing is needed absolutely, but usually it's an unnecessary cost we try to avoid.
1VD Piezo injectors might be something else altogether.
The individual cost of these injectors is massive. Electronic injector faults that throw fault codes are usually very easy to diagnose and to quickly isolate down to the offending injector.
However, if that failure mode is one that is mechanical in nature, they will continue to operate in a manner that makes them hard to differentiate from the others. A compounding element that is unique in the 1VD engine is the fact that the dual rail system means a failure on one injector will have a partial impact across that whole bank.

Whilst it must be said, that fuel is common to all injectors, and therefore whatever has caused damage in the offending cylinders is just as likely caused damage in the others. Therefore, the least risk of any more failures in the short term is to replace the whole set.
However, we also understand, that for many, this is not always feasible. So we will work with you to get the injectors out and tested, work out which ones need replacement and then supply those new, and refit the operational units.
Whist this won't be a cheap exercise either, it will be a fraction of the cost of a total replacement. It also offers the peace of mind that we have measured and known the exact scenario and have taken the best action steps possible.
