i’ve always wondered if richard called and told addison about derek and meredith, bc he opened his eyes and saw derek touch merediths face then at the end of the episode addison comes and she said that richard called her a few episode later thennnnn when mark came he mentioned that everyone knew meredith as the INTERN that derek hooked up with but richard could of told addison that he was seeing meredith that’s a intern that works at seattle grace hospital. anyway that’s what i think that happened bc idk how else addison would of new about meredith

Addison knew about Meredith because as she walked into the hospital Derek was helping Meredith put on her coat and they looked very... coupley. Not to mention the way they were looking at each other obviously meant something more than friends, it wasn't hard to figure out. Why she was passive aggressive about it after cheating on Derek for months and then even after him finding out STAYING with Mark for another two, only realizing after aborting the baby that she wanted her husband--- for that, I have no idea.

This might be the most tragic moment in Grey’s. Meredith has finally gotten to a point that she decided to trust Derek more than anyone else and tell him about her mother. Richard see’s and as he does for years hurts her by taking away Derek when he calls and tells Addison what is going on. For years Richard hurts multiple people because he’s lived a life that was a lie, he had an affair and hurt his wife, he hurt Meredith’s mother because he wanted to be the star that was brightest, he hurt Meredith over and over telling himself he was protecting her when he was hiding his secrets, he hurt Maggie when he found out she was his daughter and never told her. Derek should have been completely honest sooner but at that point Addison was his ex-wife not wife, he caught her having an affair, sold his practice and literally moved all the way across the country to get away from her, bought land in the woods and lived on it in a trailer, that’s what is known as a fresh start and I’m sure that Richard knew it all but insisted on interfering because of his secrets. The web Shonda Rhimes wove right from the beginning shows she’s an creative genius.
