FN502 Problems Solved?

I have seen the same problem on a new Beretta 92 in 9 mm. This issue was the magazine spring was stiff and needed to be broken in. Try loading the magazine half full and gradually increase the number of rounds. once the spring weakens a bit the feeding improves. Key: lot of failures on first round. 😮

I had the same issue initially, so I called FN and recommended CCI ammo and fps above 1240. So I've been using "Mini Mag Hollow Point (1260fps)". Not one single issue since. I tell you what, she is picky. Give it a try, I promise she will be awesome after.

Mine was 100% ammo. Feeds and runs perfect on CCI red tips. Got 200 straight with not a single FTF or extraction issue

My tactical works flawless other than the first rack where it won't slide all the way in. Even with subsonic it functions perfectly. I'm going to try the Sig spring.

I have the tactical version with threaded barrel..... it runs very well suppressed & unsuppressed..... suppressed i use suppressor ammo, & unsuppressed i use Wolf match target 40gr, or Federal in blue box, i think its 38 or 40gr

I had the same problem, but mine won't eject the spent casing, different ammo used, but when I took a close look at the barrel where the spent casing is sitting in I compared all my other Guns and their countersink on the barrel opening are all a bit deeper than the 502, all the .22lr I have are a deeper countersunk.

Thank you I’m very excited about this. I really really want to like this gun and I’ve been having similar issues. I’m hoping this will fix all of the issues that I’m having the P250 spring will help a lot. It looks like.

@@sosa_eco I haven’t been shooting mine much lately, I’ve tried pretty much all different types of ammo the ammo that I found to the most reliable CCI so far anyway I sent my pistol back to FN and they tried to tell me that I need a new barrel because mine was dry fired. Initially they told me was perfectly fine to do when I bought it. I called them and asked them that and they said yes so that’s been my experience with it.

I have the FN502 Tactical with threaded barrel. I test fired it stock before I added my Vortex Venom optic. I cleaned and lubricated it prior to firing it. The very first round I tried would not feed and the slide did not go into full battery. I had to tap on it to get it to feed. After that, it was jam after jam. I was using CCI standard ammo, 1260fps. So i upgraded the spring and guide rod and it improved somewhat. This pistol is just plain old junk. I always swore by FN, but this is by far the worse pistol I have ever owned. All this work to make a brand new pistol to work is ridiculous. The only nice thing about this pistol is it looks cool. I have a Browning Buckmark and have zero issues. I am going to trade this paperweight in for a Ruger. Thanks for sharing this video yankeecowboy!! (anyone want to buy it, hmu)

After i sent 1st one back. And got my new one from them the 2nd one im at or close to 1000rds zero issues. Unless i use federal automatch lmao. That stuff is a waste off good brass an powder 😂 Remington thunderbolt Remington golden Cci standard cci blazers no problems. Faster i pull trigger faster it eats. Now my mags are same i opened the lips about 1.5mm so ammo slides out easier...

I sent mine in about a week ago. Same issues, slide wont battery, FTF, and my 13 round mag fell apart. Base plate issues. I found that it doesnt like Aguila ammo. Not sure which one but its in a red box. I hope I FN fixes the issues or sends a new gun. I bought my wife a Taurus TX22. I like shooting that one more than the FN ,with all its issues.

Could the failure to feed issue, be a mag issue? Maybe keep track of which mags fail to feed. Waiting to pick my 502 up (WA state sucks) and already ordered the stainless guide rod and p250 spring lol.

Yes I have 4 brand new FN mags but what I’m trying now is keep them loaded to try and relax springs a bit. The guide rod and p250 spring make the pistol feel sprung properly compared the the flimsy stock spring.

​@@yankeecowboyI've put 1000 rounds through mine now and I've only had a few jams. I think the slide locked back once but that could have been my grip pressing up on the release. I did have a round fly out of the chamber instead of chambering last time I had it out which was weird. Just ordered the votatu optic for mine. Only real issue I have had is the pin on the handle and pin by the slide release working their way out. Mine hits about 3 or 4 inches high. Does yours do that?

What ammo do you use? I have had some issues with my Fn502 and the ejector. Certain rounds would seem to be stuck and the ejector would not be able to eject the case.

Try using cci 36 grain varmint with that full size red dot could be weight issues on the slide

Do to KZbin’s policies I don’t film any installations anymore. I can tell you this much it’s only two screws so you really can’t mess up and only one of the plates fit so it’s basically fool proof. I am looking into doing these types of videos and posting on my buy me a cup of coffee support page, link in description. Maybe we can do it there

Take the damn optic off and get it running right then try the optic again. Unless you eliminate every possible cause you’ll never get it right.

i always take a new firearm apart and lubricate it....what nakes the difference from the tactical and MRD model 502 is the barrel, you want a tactical model, just buy the barrel....no issues with any ammo.....serial # 05830
