My wife's car (2014 Audi A4 2.0T) with 96,000 miles has blown up for the 2nd time! The 2.0t is great when it works but clearly has issues!

I've got a 245 vrs full spec with VAQ diff. Absolutely brilliant and love it .275ftlb torque from 1500 rpm provides very muscular performance in 1400kg car

My 2016 A4 TDI 190bhp was making up to 68mpg then I went for stage 1 tunning which clearly gave more power but brought the mpg down to upto 60mpg.

I have a TDI, but I think I would go TSI for my next car. I mainly do short trips and the DPF regen gets annoying. TSI have become just as fuel efficient as TDI.

Stupid question. Doesn't deserve a VRS.

The issue is you talk about horsepower only but not about low end torque which mostly comes with those diesel engines because of the 16:1 compression ratio versus the 10:1 of the petrol engines. If you look at the big picture there is a reason why there are no petrol fueled lorries out there only diesel, because they are more economic in hauling heavy goods. Even as you mentioned in the video there is still a 20% difference in fuel economy between the petrol vs diesel 2.0 engines. Perhaps the TFSI is more fun but then will cost you more to run. I love the 2.0 TDI and even with a stage 1 remap of 170hp is still quicker than 50% of the cars on the road and still averages out 50mpg for my driving style. Very nice informative video btw.

Hi - is your stage 1 remap on a 150hp 110kw 2.0tdi - if so how did it affect the clutch? Mine is a manual clutch thinking about a remap but not sure - as can wear out clutch and reduce fuel economy -

@@mshahid2898 tuning your TDI to stage 1 will help you with better drivability and better low end torque. So better mileage as well

The problem is that, 2.0 tsi Skoda Octavia is much more expensive than diesel models where I live, in Central Europe. Very few people choose diesel engines these days, and lots of former company cars are available, so they are cheaper. 2.0 tsi models have port injection, which is very good, but not sure about piston rings are ok...Maybe 190 PS later models will not consume oil

Hi, I saw your entire channel does not have any video of 1.0 TSI engine. Can you please consider making one on that? Thanks!

I own a TDI 190 hp with a remap to 225 hp. I think I do around 8k miles per year although 95% is travelling rather fast on highways. I don't really use the "economy" of a diesel to be honest because a Skoda Kodiaq is not really aerodynamic so fuel consumption could be around 30 mpg when going at 100 mph. Sometimes I think I might enjoy more the TSI 245 with a remap although the fuel consumption would be even worse.

Hey, nice to hear. I own the same with 190 hp TDI. Was the remap worth it and how much torque you drive? Can you feel the difference?

I will never buy TSI engine again. I have had 1.8 TSI, and it was an oil burner. Terrible experience - never again. TDI is ok.

For my first car, I can't decide whether to buy a diesel or petrol car. I would probably drive both 50/50 in city and on highway. I want to buy 2015-2016 VW Passat (B8). Any suggestions?

Hello guys. I want to buy a golf 6 plus 2.0 TDI CR 103 KW/140 HP. I want to know which engine code has the lowest problems. I just know that i should escape the first 3 years of CR engines, so i should go 2012-2014 year model. Or can you suggest some 2.0 tdi engine code even if it is not in golf 6 plus. It can be tuaran, passat, jeta....or maybe some skoda model. Thank you a lot.

I’m looking to buy a 1.5 tfsi petrol audi a3 2017/2018 facelift model, i do about 7000 miles a year which is majority shorter journeys with the odd longer journey .. is this a really bad engine, would i be better buying the 2.0
@torquecars
@torquecars 7 ай бұрын
I think the 1.5 would suit you perfectly, they cope well with shorter journeys and give good fuel economy, in most areas the road tax you pay and fuel taxes are lower on those than on the 2.0. Check for service history though, any engine when neglected will cause problems. I have the slightly older version of this engine, the 1.4 tfsi and here is a video I did about it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJfdf3eqZ79gjpY

I'd be curious to know why you prefer one over the other. Personally I'd go TSi as I only do short journeys and local miles. But if I had a long commute everyday then I'd go diesel without hesitation.
