I used to work on alternators for a living but it’s been awhile. Looks like an old Motorola and not marine grade. I would get a good single wire hook up one,simple and less trouble.

I used to work in a crab boat in Alaska. I remember trying to troubleshoot the alternator. Electrical problems were my biggest headaches! Happy sailing! Stay safe!

Beautiful video, I was observing that you would have made a direct approach from across Cape San Antonio Cuba to the landfall in Mexico, the angle would have been perfect due to the port quarter and the list decreases more the waves do not hit the bow, for that reason reason you couldn't open thehatches....EVERYTHING PERFECT. P.S. The ride of that 43' Spindrift is great, a heavy boat that sails very well at 7 or 8 knots in a fresh wind, I imagine that with a closed stern and with winds at 25 knots its speed can incredibly reach 10.5 knots. .that design and its first cousin 39' Landfall Vagabond 1984 are generous American designs and built in Taiwan its comfort ratio is 42.6
