(2/2) Grizzly Bear Encounter on Upper Kananaskis Lake Trail: July 12, 2021

I decided to cancel the hike after the bear encounter so we started heading east, back to the trailhead. After a couple of minutes we came across two more hikers heading west toward where the bear was. We warned them about the bear, and after some discussion we decided to merge groups and confront the bear as a group of 5 people. Grizzly attacks are unknown against groups of 5 or more people, so this approach was "safety in numbers".
