Thank you so much !! for anyone that doesn't know the formula he's using for parenthesees he's using for omega(q,N) = (q+N-1 q) is actually called "q+N-1 choose q", not dividing it, just so anyone isn't confused, but seriously this video is great. have my thermal physics final soon and these videos give me a little bit of hope lol.

Hi. At 7:20, I don’t understand why you chose N=4. Can you please explain that

Oh I think I got it now. There are 4 oscillators, it’s just that the third doesn’t have any quanta… I think I’m cool now

Yeah, the "counting with replacement but order doesn't matter" case is kinda tricky. miro.medium.com/v2/resize:fit:1400/1*9ngBYp9ylvfUYHIdzGcjSA.png

Like another commenter mentioned, I think there's an issue with your interpretation of the situation and formula around 7:50, but otherwise this was an awesome video and thanks for sharing!

Nice video.👍👍

7:50 is incorrect. You need to work with the slashes and dots you have. So you can't use all slashes or all dots. Instead you divide (q+n-1)! by the ways you can arrange the dots which is q! as well as by the ways you can arrange the slashes which is (n-1)! which then in total gives you the desired formula.

I think you're exactly right! If you could use *any* amount of dots or slashes totaling the same number, then the number of possibilities would be 2^(total number of symbols) = 2^(q+N-1).

Dude! Thank you so much. I was trying to find this information from Spanish sources (I'm from Mexico) and none of them was as good as yours. I totally understood your explanation! So, again, thank you so much!

how does one come up with the micro states format?

I have a question, by using the equipartition theorem, n/2 kT, if we want to get the same result, n has to be equal to 6, so my question is why do we say in the equipartition theorem that an atom has 6 degrees of freedom whereas in the Einstein model there are 3 degree of freedoms for an atom? Thanks a lot and by the way I got subscribed!
