I think this is the same issue I have in the UK. Mine is a 2007 RX350. The engine is bulletproof but getting the interior is damp. I will investigate

I too have a similar problem on an otherwise superbly reliable 400h. Pulled the carpet up front is dry mid section wet. I do not have a sunroof so looked at rear lights, and gasket sealing imprint a bit suspect, and water in the rear two quarters similar to yours.... One thing you did not cover is that the plastic trim next to the lights (held in with a philips screw) has a foam type deflector to water flowing down the "gutter" from above. I found a lot of crud there and I gave it a good clean. Then I made a new mini channel from self adhesive heavy duty sound and thermal insulation tape and shaped it so it deflects as much water as possible towards the inboard (toward the tailgate) side so water does not flow directly behind the light. I think this crud accumulating doesn't help as basically all the water will be flowing everywhere, including directly into the light. Just worth a mentin. Thank you so much!! This has been a nightmare for me once my car leaked. The mechanic couldn’t find the problem. We replaced the weather stripping etc. I’m going to check the back for leaks after I’m done doing everything in your other video about the sunroof. It poured out exactly where your said when I ran water into the sunroof. 😭😭

I had this issue and traced it back to when a PDR dent removal guy took off my rear left light and lost two of the nuts that hold it in place, so it was loose (I found it that way when I investigated so guess it was him who'd dropped them). Bought two new nuts and tightened it all up - 'Hey Presto!' no more water ingress (was making centre of rear footwells soggy). I would also agree with your advice on tightening up those nuts! They are a real bugger to get to and my hands looked like Freddie Kruger's afterwards - Lacerationsville, Tennessee! :-)

Maybe a similar issue but it hasn't rained in days and I opened the rear liftgate on our 2004 RX 330 and water started pouring out of the little hole in the bottom of the liftgate itself near the corner. I've also noticed some condensation on the inner tail light on that same side, the tail light that is inset in the liftgate itself. Not sure if the liftgate was designed to have water drain through it that way (or at all), but it seems odd and will have to investigate. Anyone else experience this?

I have a 2004 Rx330. The rear hatch doesn't drain water until I lift the tail gate door. It doesn't leak into the interior, but it is causing rust at the left rear corner of the tailgate. Can you suggest any reason or solution for this problem?

We used a 10mm deep socket and a short rachet for the top and bottom bolts. Then a stubby rachet wrench for the middle middle bolt.

@@tomearnshaw8532 yes, I have '07 RX400H. We have had a ton of rain and the front seatbelts are damp and the B pillars have water stains on them. I checked the sunroof drains and they seem to be fine. Wondering if there's a leak in the roof rack area. Can't think of where else the water could be coming from. The carpets don't feel damp.

@@saramaki1088 the battery’s are under the back seats in like a well. And at the lowest point there’s a drain plug that gets blocked over time. So my leak that I still have not located filled the well and the car shut down. I had to have the seats taken out and the drain plug removed so any water can escape.

@@tomearnshaw8532 oh, no! What a pain! I'm still trying to find a body shop that can look at mine more thoroughly. Plus the rear right side door has rust on it. Every place so far is booked into August. I hope you can find the leak. Let us know when you do. Good luck!

This looks like the problem I am having, but my mechanic replaced the left light gasket and it still leaks. Not sure where to go from here but the water is landing in the exact same place as your Lexus. Thank you for making this video.

Then have him remove the other lens and you can actually see the gasket leak. Replace the right. If you still have the leak is the front sunroof drain per my informative video. E
