This is NOT an offense for beginners. You need players who can think further ahead than "Please let me catch this pass or please be a good pass". That said, this a great offense for very good Junior High and High School players who don't worry much about catching, cradling and passing the ball. Any offense that is disciplined and creates a tremendous amount of motion away from the ball is a great thing. Defensive ball watching occurs at every level and movement like this can exploit it.

i really do like this offense. we mainly ran this at my high-school but we would toss in a 1-4-1 ran from "X" that i absolutely love. but i do believe this is a really good offense to run with beginners as well elite players

just worked on this with my team lastnight. going to practice in like 2 hours to do it again. this is a simple play but its very affective. defense can not block it if its done right

@SweatEagle the triangles have to rotate because it creates opportunities to score and confuses the defense. If the crease guy just switches with another middie, it wouldn't confuse the defense or create enough

@edmondsm2 you asked this months ago, but the reason the entire offense rotates is to affect the slides, to be honest it's a really simple offense generally when teams slide from the crease, the second slide is the backside defender, when a middie dodges from up top, the backside attackmen is rotating to X and hopefully pulls his defender with him making the slide come from further away, if not then the defenders are cheating on the slide and someone will be wide open

Hey just a suggestion on your animation. When both triangles are rotating after the middie dodges, the attack man cutting across crease really needs to book it to get out of the dodgers way. Otherwise he is just dragging his defenseman into the middie.

Was wondering, would it be better if the opposite triangle rotates the opposite direction for there to be a better pass? (For example, the attackmen (on the right ally) dodges towards the middle (so the triangle rotates with the dodger), then the middie (left ally) cuts towards the dodger for the pass and a possible pick.)
@robf80232 жыл бұрын
I think that could be a good introduction after you are confident that they can run this at its bare bones. The crawl, walk run on this could begin anywhere from using actual string/cord (depending on their age. This is great for beginners to learn offense techniques and how to not get hung up on details. I’d teach this as 2 rules at the beginning. 1 rule, keep the triangle zones filled, adjust as needed. 2. Cut after pass between triangles to initiate rotation. I was going to introduce a pick rule after about 2-3 weeks of the 2 basic rules.

Crease midfielder should fade away from the ball carrier just like he would on the passing sequence.
@logan901412 жыл бұрын
@@liamhylton2388 yeah, I was thinking a pick, if not fade away to give room for the dodge and draw out the defender.

A 2-3-1 is a great offense but the triangles should rotate on a dodge. If left attack dodges then crease middie and left middie should clear to the other side of the field. The biggest problem is if the attack at X dodges and the triangles rotate, the attack and middies rotating draw defenders to the hole which is contradictory to the purpose of the dodge.
