@@filokseniatee5036 Yes! I was the same. I always felt like passing out. Betablockers affect adrenaline and blocks its effects, which in turn affects flight and fight reaction, so your heart rate doesn't skyrocket and you don't tremble or shiver. It was amazing to realize that "oh even if I'm nervous I can still think and feel quite okay." When you feel bodily calm your mind will calm down too. I warmly recommend them, it's at least worth trying. When you get more confidence with the medication you can gradually stop using it. I use propranolol.

Hello, fellow new and semi-experienced public speakers. I've been a public speaker for decades and although I'm not interested in making a video about it I thought I'd share some knowledge on what I've learned. Public speaking is a skill you can learn just like you first learned to ride a two-wheeled bike. To learn how to ride a bike you first needed to assemble all the ingredients. [A bike, road or driveway, helmet, maybe knee and elbow pads.] The same is true of public speaking. My experience as a speaker as well as studying other speakers has taught me the four main ingredients needed to give a good presentation. They are: #1] Be comfortable and relaxed. [Duh!] I'll explain how to easily master that. #2] Have respect for your audience. Be sure you are giving them, leaving them with, something of value. #3] Know your subject! You have no right to get up and speak if your knowledge on the subject is less than at least the human average. Study! You don't need to be an expert but earn your right to publically speak about the subject you've chosen. #4] Put yourself into your delivery. BE YOURSELF! Honestly, you'll never please everyone but if you try to be someone that you're not, you'll probably end up pleasing no one. Just be your honest self and let the chips fall where they may. Those are the 4 top points I'd recommend. The 4 ingredients that make up a good speech and speaker. Obviously, there are other tips like write your speech and be sure to edit it a few times. Make your speech tight and fast. I'll write a three-page speech and by the time I've condensed my thoughts and edited it, I'll be down to a single page. Tight, fast, and hard-hitting. Your audience deserves no less. I always end a talk with a take-home gift for the audience if possible. Most of my speeches are on science-based self-manipulation practices. So it's easy to offer a take-home gift that if the information is used at home it will improve their lives. Get creative, create a gift. If you are not yet experienced in public speaking you'll need to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE, your speech at least 10 times over 3 to 5 days. After the first day, your subconscious will start working on it and better prepare you for your second day of practice. It's a lot of work but so was learning to ride your bike at the beginning. Later in your career, you'll pick up your bike at a moment's notice and just ride it naturally. Okay, so this is the tip that will have you standing comfortably and relaxed while speaking in front of any sized audience. The hardest part to overcome for public speaking is in standing up, breathing, and thinking all at the same time. Everything else can be put together, assembled, or prepared beforehand but how can you prepare yourself to be comfortable and relaxed? Before even choosing your subject, writing/editing your speech, or committing to giving a talk, practice the following exercise. Remember, what we want to achieve is to have you standing up, speaking, breathing, and feeling comfortable all at the same time. #1] to give a good speech one must know their subject. [Everyone knows their ABCs and everyone can count to 60.] #2] Get professionally dressed up, as you would when you're doing the real thing. #3] Stand in your living room, face the couch, and slowly recite your ABCs. [Pronounce each letter as if it were a word. Use body language, use emotions.] #4] Recite your ABCs, then count out loud to 60, then recite your ABCs again. The purpose of this exercise is to get you up on your feet learning how to stand, breathe, talk, and feel relaxed all at the same time. Eventually, your speech will replace your ABCs and counting out loud to 60. If you've done your homework you'll be able to pull it off just as easily. As a bonus, if you can, assemble a few friends who also want to learn this skill you can take turns doing this in front of each other. Listen to each other and offer each other advice on how to improve. If alone, practice your hand and body movements, making eye contact with the couch, and make some occasional pauses in your already fully memorized ABC/count to 60 speech. Within days you'll feel so much more comfortable standing up and speaking out loud. Sorry to say but even after decades of public speaking I still get a nervous rush before every talk but that nervousness - completely dissipates - as soon as I start talking. Public speaking is just another skill anyone can master if willing to do the work. Hope this helps. :) The Geriatric Hippie P*E*A*C*E

I was once taught very interesting story about presentation skills. I was taught that the key part of good presentation is not about the content itself but how you handle it. You want to be the person who controls the flow and atmosphere of the room when you are present in front of the people. It is hard to be comfortable in front of public so you need to practice for it. After that I realized that my lack of confidence is rooted from my lack of practicing.

@GT Man on WW1: well i was good with jessica and all but she hit my dog. So now, i want to burn her house down. No bigge. An eye for an eye. And my friends are like so good that they're totally in on it even some of them are like miles away. But news got out and her besties are onto us. So we were both trying to burn each others houses. But lowkey, her fault but at this point does it even really matter? And anyway, we also have these new toys to try out so like yea. OH so like we kinda live in the same neighborhood except for a couple of friends that live in the other side of town. It was like, a really big deal that our other neighbors got in the cross fire and got some parts of their house on fire too. This went on for like, a few months until we couldn't take it any more. Our houses were totally on fire. My pets were so sick and hurt, like some of them even died!! Urgh, so many pets died over those years, i couldn't believe it. So like, both of our groups kinda talked it out like, heyyy can we like stop fighting? cuz this really out of my budget anymore. So like, we're all "cool" right now. Like we even made this super bestie club! But tbh, i dont think that it's gonna last. And me and my boys are gonna be there to defend our houses that are like so great

I gave a presentation today on the HIV . I agree I didn't have that much background knowledge on the topic,so answering the questions was a bit difficult and they were not up to the mark either.Our teacher didn't hear my whole presentation,cause there was a error in my poster and told me that she expected better from me.At first ,I felt too sad about it and was not ready to face anyone.Now that I have seen this video,I understand how important it is to have good background knowledge on the thing you are speaking about.Thank you.

This one time I was super nervous and I felt a bit better a 2 minutes in and I overcame the anxiety. Well, not even in the middle of it I begun feeling ill and I just stuttered and rambled over the words. I said the last sentence twice in a small voice before my head started spinning so I had to say straight out "I can't do this, I feel ill", I almost fainted. I was sickly pale. I am sure, if I hadn't said that I would have fallen. Ever since that day, I've refused to do presentations. I felt so humaliated. I wish I could do presentations, or anything overall.

I just wanted to say that it's ok. There's always ways to fight the enxiety if one willing to back up despite how many times failing. I'm looking for a way to improve my presentation and communication skills. I read somewhere that one can't do two things at the same time so if you divert your attention to somewhere else other than yourself, you naturally ignored the negative thoughts inside your mind.

One thing they didn't mention is the tone of your voice. Even the tiniest of inflections will produce more engagement. Cadence as well. You can experience this yourself right now by replaying the video and listening to both presentations without the visuals. His voice is distinct in each one.

Excellent video! It was very well organized starting with a presentation with clear, identifiable mistakes with the effect of such mistakes (bored audience), followed by feedback, and finally the result of that feedback (a good presentation) and the audience's reaction. All of the actors spoke clearly, though I greatly appreciated the subtitles. So many educational KZbin videos don't have any subtitles! I will definitely use this in the business communication course that I'm currently teaching in China. Thank you so much!

I often try to set my mind on the needs of the audience---and that is to just do my job as a speaker in general. Being nervous is normal, but the progress is already there before you even know it. This is a great learning content, by the way.

1) Turn on all lights instead of dimming them. 2) Make the very first thing you say a question in order to motivate interest. 3) Never stand behind a podium (and never sit unless you are physically unable to stand). 4) Focus all of your content on what you want the viewer to do after the talk is over as a result of the talk. If there is no answer to this, do not give the talk.

The best thing about this video this that it emulated and mimicked the situation and room full of people where you would actually give a presentation. It replicated those stresses and conditions and pressures and scenarios where you will actually be when doing and TALKING the Presentation Speech! Just panning the camera and showing the audience In the video and the strong teacher and how their faces look and react and change with your words really made me realize how important controlling your talking and controlling your audiences emotions and riling them up and causing them to calm and placate and then rile up again at impactful moments you want to capitalize their Attention and will/desire to change and follow your Suggestions/Orders and directions ideas wishes etc really is. A good video, though fiction, is Marc Antony's Speech. Search that sentence up on KZbin and you can find a few examples really good ones of Oration!

Ranjit's presentation was the same as when I did my first presentation at junior high school. at that time I was awkward, not confident, afraid, tense. at the time of the presentation I did not dare to look at the audience, I did not dare to meet face to face like a person who is talking. I just looked at the paper continuously until I was like someone who was reading a dictionary without smiling at all. At the time of the lecture I was able to present well, see the audience's eyes, chat with the audience, stare at the audience with self-paint, smile and involve the audience's role in my presentation.

More tips! 1) Use your hands, don't let them flop down to the floor. Instead try to implament them natrually in your speech. And divert the attantion of the crowd to something you want them to focus on. 2) Move around. Don't stay in one place. A good tip for beginers is to move in a squrae like shape. Moving randomly between the corners of the shape. 3) USE YOUR VOICE!!! correctly :) Don't speak in a monotone voice. And avoid SHOUTING or whispering. Have changes and stops while you speak to emphasize important parts of your speech. Speak clearly so everyone will understand. Don'tspeaktoofast! but. also . don't. speak. too. slowaly. 4) Avoid distracting things. Don't wear ripped jeans or overly deatailed clothes. If you have a watch or rings avoid playing with them. Try to speak in a quiet place. And look profasinal. 5) Be creative! Yes, sometimes you can't do much more than speaking or a funny presantation. But if you have the freedom try to get across you points in creative ways. Games, team work, missions, examples... ANYTHING GOES! So don't be scared to try new things. 6) The final, and hardest thing. Have confidince. Having confidince will improve your entire presentation. You get with experince. But if you'll hone your body languge, creativity and knowledge you'll have a great start. Hope I've helped! All these tips I've lernt from my youth groups and personal experience as a youth... counsler? It's boy scouts but Israeli and with more focus on leadership and teaching morals and understanding about life for teenagers. Can't really translate it.
