I had a Burton 2.1 pinto in a Capri with fast road cam and lightened and bellanced everything. It was a hooligans tool. Can't wait to see what a 2.3 can put out.

Love the series Graham. You've been a wealth of knowledge over the years on the TS forum and always happy to share. I see this as an extension of that. The dyno was a great move. If only you were in OZ,..

Cool little insight, Will defiantly be following! The opening of the oil gallery, I assume this applies to the Cosworth 200 block as well?

very good videos mate, was just thinking one thing. Do you not want to put plastigage on top and bottom of crank, so it centers itself? Just to be sure? Or is that not really needed from your experiences?
@PenguinMotors
@PenguinMotors 3 жыл бұрын
its only needed one side, Plastigauge is soft enough the crank stays centered

Hi Graham any gain from going 2.0 to 2.1 or 2.2? Running ht cam ported injection head 10.5:1 compression, trying to debate if the cost is worth it?
@PenguinMotors

i think 2.2 (although much more expensive) is more worthwhile than 2.1, heres why, most engines have had a rebore anyway, so if you have an engine already 1mm oversize, 2.1 only gets you another 50cc anyway, on the other hand 2.2 changes the stroke and they seem to really respond to more stroke. im not sure why you would want an HT1 cam and 10.5 cr, its too low to make real power from that cam, so if your going to do anything fit forged pistons and get the compression up to make use of that cam, or fit a milder cam and enjoy a better torque curve!

@@PenguinMotors thanks for the info only threw the engine together quickly to get my Sierra ready for my wedding and had the ht1 cam so threw it together, I have a bottom there from a 2litre hotrod decked block 1.5mm over size, haven’t done anything with it yet, I can also get my hands on an old 2.1 that my friend has, he said it has Holbay rods and was running dcoe 50s, would I be better off spending my money on going 2.2 from scratch or what would you advise be?
