Join us on the Self-guided Tour;) of this Brand New MIKELSON 59' NOMAD. I would say The perfect "yin and yang" YACHT for a well-balanced couple: adventure, exploration, and offshore fishing, but at the same time lots of space to entertain and cruise comfortably. This 59' / 18M Model definitely felt like a 75' or 80' (23-24M)... Pretty unbelievable! I think we would feel very safe going offshore on this Beauty as everything was solid, well built, and thought through. Loved the location of the galley, all the access, the Master was pretty Fabulous as well. I could totally see a very happy couple cruising around and exploring onboard of it or using it for a long weekend trip, while still enjoying all it has to offer at the dock. Great Owner/ operator size Yacht. Also, MIKELSON YACHTS are all semi-custom, so you can definitely create the perfect space to accommodate your own preferences.
oh, Did I mention the view from the Crow's Nest / Tuna Tower?? So spectacular! So Many possibilities: long-range cruiser, coastal cruiser, weekender, liveaboard, 2nd home on the water... what would you do?!

lol great imagery. you'll be rewarded in your next life keep up with the service job i guess. if covid taught us one thing, it's that the advance economies and supply chains need clerks, loaders, checkers, drivers, waiters, cashiers, etc. or everything goes to shit. they're needed but rarely rewarded. i'm thankful we have them and they show up to work. they fill the role of servants (non-citizens) in the Roman empire. thank God these people never get together and form powerful unions or they could cause serious problems.

You can tell that the person or persons that designed this boat really put a lot of thought into it's layout. Every time I watch one of your videos, I end up adding a new model to my “boats I’d like to own one day” list 😂 Great tour as always and another great boat. The upper decks were fantastic - I liked the tuna tour instead of a full flybridge and I also loved the galley/helm/dinette area and the cabins. I agree with you, Victoria, about pocket doors - sorry Rico. I wasn’t so keen on the saloon and didn’t notice a readily accessible day head though🙁. I might just go back and watch your Sunreef 60 video as that’s still top of that list I mentioned! Keep the great tours coming 💙💙

Thanks Victoria and Rico, another great tour! If I ever have the money, this is my kind of yacht to tour the globe. With a little less focus on fishing and a few changes to the layout (I like your suggestion on switching the two cabins), this would be ideal for a liveaboard, IMHO. Rico would have to give up his yoga. Great live aboard. I would go with the fly bridge. Tuna towers seem more popular for serious fishing boats. Even with the great boats, Victoria you are the star of the show.

This is a well build boat, with a real thought out layout. For me as a scuba diver, I would customize that aft deck, and cabin area to become a functional dive area, and go on dive adventures. I would also customize the interior, with yellow couches and sheets to match Victoria’s sun inspired outfit.

ak The trick with scuba diving is to dive with in your limits and stay cautious. Also stay close to your dive buddy, in case there’s failures. Most of the cases of people getting injured are people not checking their air so they are forced to swim to the surface to fast so they end up getting the bens. I’m a Reacteational diver who has his deep certification, meaning I’m certified to go to 130 feet. That’s the max depth for Reacteational diving, and most divers stay at that level because the cost of the equipment, the training, and the general easiness of diving. To go any deeper, you have to have way more training, way more advanced and specific equipment and a much higher skill level. That’s called Technical Scuba Diving. Best advice I can give you as far as going in to the sport. Find a good dive instructor. I want someone who is going to drill you on skills and call you out on your flaws, but also you have a good relationship with. After your first initial class you are certified to 60 feet. To continue, you have to take a lot of classes, and get more certain. Also change instructors, because you learn different things from different people. That brings me to the one real downside of diving. The cost. You have to spend money every time to get air in your tanks, and rent tanks every time. I spent a couple of grand on a nice set of dive gear. Or you have to rent gear every time. You also have to service that gear once a year. Here’s why it’s worth it. The moment you go scuba diving your are introduced, to a brand new world. It’s such a fun sensation to breath under water for an hour. The more you dive the longer you can stay in the water because you become more comfortable and breath less. The amount of stuff that I’ve seen down there, is amazing (sharks, turtles, fish, mana rays, octopus , ship wrecks, underwater mountains). All this stuff, normally you would watch on discovery channel, but instead I get to experience it. I’ve had just as much fun at 20 feet down as I’ve had at 100 feet down. The ocean is scary, but it’s also so much fun.

One of my favorite yachts Tom Fexas did a great job with the layout of this Yachtfisher I would of opted for the extended cockpit myself but be sure to tell Rico that you would be very happy living on a Nomad.

Engine room is so nice. The locking storage up front is a big plus. Don't know the legalities as to whether you would be required to open them for boat searches, but they are a perfect place to store "protection" from pirates and all nature of undesirables you may run into at sea. Better to have it, and not need it, than to need it, and not have it. A very well designed sport yacht. The master shower is a smart idea. Professional sport fishing is very expensive these days. I really appreciate Mickelson Yachts for this model. It is made specifically for the west coast Californians. To be able to leave USA waters and head south deep in to Mexican waters. Then the ability to stay out at sea for a week. Different style boats for different markets and sea conditions. This is not a tournament boat. Not a day boat. This is a live aboard long range recreational tuna fishing boat. The amount of live bait storage is amazing. The only thing I was disappointed in was not seeing the fish holds but I assume they were where the generator was in the cockpit but had been re purposed for that. A boat like a Viking is great but going over 20 knots in the open ocean isn't always an option. A viking is made to go fastfish hard and heads back to the marina at night. this boat is for being 200 miles from the nearest marina, anchoring behind an island or headland at night and getting back out to the fishing grounds the next morn gin and not having to drive 35 knots for a few hours to get there..

Man that is my type of yacht, I'd want something that was easy to fish with and still take all my friends in style/comfort. The attention to detail is incredible on this yacht, I love the owner's choice of wood and decor, it feels like you are on a damn yacht, not a Miami Vice set piece or Queen Victoria's parlor. As far as configuration, I'd get the bridge off the main deck, interior stairs to the upper bridge deck, fully enclosed with sliding side windows and sliding patio rear door. Get rid of that rear ladder, so you have room for a dinghy and jet ski up on that bridge deck. Put a secondary bridge up on that crow's nest with a very wide ass bench seat that can seat 5 or 6 across. Would be a fun place to pilot the boat with your kids/grandkids, or have your squeeze snuggle up to you on that bench seat.

Bit like a small pup who thinks it is a big dog, it certainly seems bigger than it is. Great use of space and as you say ideal for a couple and as a live aboard. Dealing direct does have advantages, personal service as well as decent negotiation with price. As usual beautifully presented with unbiased professional comments giving a great insight into what life aboard would be like. Thank you.

This is a really, really nice yacht. One thing that I'm surprised at is there is no dishwasher. I'd think with as many people as would be aboard, that there would be a dishwasher other than whoever drew the short straw for clean up duty.

Always an awesome video! Master head has a towel heater to heat towels before shower, now that's nice!! When I'm done with the shower the towel goes to laundry. Just sayin 😉

Nice boat, nice manageable size. I like the woodwork throughout the boat, beautifully done. There is no head in the crew quarters? This would be a boat for a younger, fit crowd with ladders for stairs (or at least older and fit!).
