Fantastic work as always! You are always able to keep your pieces so clean and free of tool marks while you're working. Could you maybe do a tips and tricks video on your method of keeping the piece clean and pre-polishing? Thank you for the great content!

Would you recommend a 3 or 5 prong claw fitting on a 3 carat. Myself and my partner have been looking at this ring, but worried about the security of 3 prong fitting. Is it safer to go 5? Thanks for sharing this video. Great seeing the craft and that goes into it
@jacothejeweller Жыл бұрын
Hi David, yes it’s always safer to have more claws. However, 3 claws are not unsafe at all. I know this might sound like a contradiction but it has to do with how the stone is set rather. If the two claws at the back of the stone are sturdy and the front is capped correctly, then 3 claws are as safe as 5. It sounds like you have a great size stone and I can understand your concern so make sure you have a great craftsman setting it and make sure to take your ring in for regular checkups. If you like the look of 3 claws over 5, go with the look you love most.
