Good to see different types of land rovers,mine land rover is a county which is based on the army Perentie,i remember them well because when i was serving we towed guns with them,the army required modifications on the standard 110 land rover so they called the project Perentie,the major modifications to tow the guns were heavy duty salisbury diff as well as a 3.9 isuzu diesel engines. The land rover county you see in my profile is a 3.9 isuzu diesel has ATB diff in the transfer box as well as elockers front and rear as well as wolf rims.

The chassis were seriously reinforced so they could be suspended by one corner without going out of square, plus they were then galvanised prior to assembly.

11:00 I concur, I recently replaced all the disks, shoes and pads on my 2008 Freeloader, everything was copper-eased and a job I was dreading was a dream. I would like to thank the guy, probably dealership who last did the brakes, I spent a nice sunny afternoon quietly getting on with no swearing or thrown tools. I passed it on with my own liberal smearing of copper ease (which I know Mike doesn't seem to rate).

I used aluminium based anti seize for low to medium temperature work, and Nickie anti seize for high temp work - like exhausts So you do not see much copper stuff!

As britpart for studs for wolf rims. I changed my 110 and my 130 because I thought they were very short. Now there’s about 3/4” of spare thread. But the studs are bloody expensive

@@BritannicaRestorations [chest thump] my 1990 Perentie 110 has a turbo 3.9 Isuzu and 4 wheel discs. It does have a factory LR galvanised chassis but its the same old firewall.... It does go much quicker than my old Series LR and just eats hills. For simple safety and common sense I got Bearmach longer studs to suit my new 130 tubeless rims. Studs cost for $200 Aussie for the set from www.TotalParts.co.uk but thats cheap 'insurance'.

Rebuilding callipers is only worthwhile if you use stainless pistons, and that is extremely worthwhile as the standard pistons can rust through the chrome in under three years of road use, let alone heavy off road use. Zeus Engineering do great kits for around £110 - I used them on my RRC and later on the Discovery brake system installed on my 109. I wouldn’t touch anything else now. Wolf studs are 1/2” longer than standard and genuine cost £10 each a decade ago (even dearer now I’d imagine). Tithonus rebuilt 90s and 110s didn’t have the longer studs fitted even though they got Wolf rims. I would like to think they did some calculations and found the thread engagement with standard studs sufficient, but it wouldn’t be the first time a contractor screwed over the MoD with a bad quality job.

Hello, great videos - please can I ask, on my 2.5d NA where do you refill the coolant, the radiator or via the header tank? Thank you.
@BritannicaRestorations
@BritannicaRestorations 2 ай бұрын
Usually the header tank if it is a top-up - major coolant change via the radiator
