This hand load can use different hulls. Just make sure to trim to appropriate length. Patterns coming soon. If you want to support my channel, go to them following www.ebay.com/u...

Great load a very well done video. Thank you for the great information. If you have all the same shot, just add buffer. Then use a long screw to push down in shot and buffer and it mixes easily.

Thanks for the tip!

Cheddite 10 gauge hulls just do that man. I’m using a modified lee load all as you probably know for 10 gauge, every other hull, even the old fiocchis I have, come out perfect every time aside from the cheddites. I use them all the time but don’t film with them often just because I like showing nice looking crimps lol. That crimp looks just fine to me though.

They usually crimp really nice, especially new. They never last as long as any other 10ga hull though.

Great video, just went through my 10ga turkey hulls I’ve shot over the years and I have almost 50 hulls I’ve saved. Those turkey loads were 2 3/8, 2 1/2, and 2 5/8. I deconstructed one that I had bought from a company I won’t mention that had 3oz of TSS18 8-9 shot. The next one that I deconstructed had the advertised 2 5/8oz load. I’ve loaded my own 2 5/8 oz TSS18 with seven shot few years back running long shot powder and killed a few gobbler with it. I don’t suggest doing that at all. I’ve always run an old H&R turkey special and I’m thinking of finding a browning light 10ga for goose because a buddy of mine runs one and it’d be fun to run steel shot big and heavy and save money over TSS18 loads. I don’t see myself going back to the 10ga that killed gobblers for over twenty years. The big 10 is hard to let go of for sure! Just such a timeless gauge and the raw power and feel is amazing…….

It’s hard not to love the 10! I will say, I think it fits best in my waterfowl arsenal better than anything else.

So you have to take into account the Buffer in your total Charge weight? Also does the Buffer help in tightening up your Pattern?
@avidwaterfowler75225 ай бұрын
Yes and no…. Generally speaking this is an acceptable practice when you know the pressure is well below max. However, buffer usually increases pressure slightly generally speaking. In metallic reloading, working loads above book max is very normal and not questioned when doing properly. For some reason in shotshell, people loose their minds over not following the book. I think it’s mostly based on regurgitation what they read on the internet… to prove my point, Hodgdon wrote an article a few years ago about how different crimp tightness caused a 1500psi swing on the same load… so, if following the book is so important, how comes no one is talking about the Hodgdon article?

Gaep finish 10 special numero 2 or omv 👍

I have a GAEP BN3 for the 10. I didn’t want to use it on this load since it’s not tested with it. I’m currently doing tests to see how finish crimping affects velocity.
