for those with the random feeling for it to be a solid strong number in the end, after 30 days and 465 items later, declutter 35 more. you'll end up with 500 items out and it's satisfying

Okay some video ideas: how to deal with different cathegories like personal things (souvenirs/keepsakes) or hobby things etc. - Reading everyday personality development books for 30 days - How to stay kind of minimal with everything digital (photos, apps, notes,…) - or maybe a video about what people buy and what you use instead (like some people use many makeup removal wipes and I just use soap and my hands) - easy recipes with little packaging waste…

I love the "kind of minimal" about digital clutter 😂 It's definitely something I struggled with way before being a "content creator". A lot of methods have been put to the test now. That would be interesting to share. 😊 Thank you for the suggestions 🙏

This was a great video. I’m trying to declutter but I do find it hard. I really enjoyed seeing what you got rid of, as it made me realise even small clutter like paper clips can be thrown away/recycled if not needed, and it will all help in the long run. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏼

I kept buying more cabinets to store my stuff. One day I realized the storage was closing in on me and that I didn’t need more storage. I needed less stuff. I’ve been working on this for about two or three years. Even the kids are on board. I’m no longer keeping stuff for sentimental reasons other than a few things from my childhood. I sold the jewelry I was never going to wear. I just threw out 40 years of birthday and holiday cards. I got rid of Knick knacks that were stored in my out building. Other than outside toys or seasonal stuff, if I don’t keep it in the house, then I don’t need it. I realized I used to be happier when I had less stuff. I think my kitchen needs to be decluttered more. It’s always a work in progress. I donated a bunch of blankets today. How many blankets does a person really need? I now have a few Christmas items in my trunk to donate. I will thin out more when I decorate this year. I’m only planning on decorating my mantel and having one tree. And hanging my Rudolph and Clarice wreath on the door. (My favorite movie). I put a tote full of remote control cars on the porch for my 13 year old to go thru but he hasn’t done it yet. I’ll let him slide a little as he just broke his wrist last week. He’s fine. If they would let go of some legos I would be happy. lol! Letting go of books after I read them. I never read a book more than once. Not often anyway unless it’s educational. Less is more! I’m trying! Hoping to have the house down to pretty much the minimum before the holidays hit so I won’t be distracted with too much junk everywhere!

Yes! I am 48 and a minimalist before it was really 'minimalism'. Back in the 90s, we just called it Simple Living! We often hung out on AOL and Yahoo chats with Homesteaders and or a cross section with early days of Mr Money Mustache bc there wasn't a lot on the newish internet social wise to discuss with others😂

6th time I'm impressed! I've been on my minimalism journey for a year and a half, and of course I'm still struggling 😂 Sooo these are the topics that I'd love to hear from you. Since you mentioned that you bought stuff to represent your personality and to cover up your insecurity, and now you let go of your possessions, I'd like to know What you define yourself by instead of stuff? and How you deal with insecurity? Do you ever get bored with this lifestyle, and when you need some novelty, what do you do instead of buying things? Also, I'd love to hear your thoughts on how minimalism affects your mental health and creativity aspect.

From a 60 year old grandmother’s perspective: Even though it would be nice to just begin walking and skip the crawling phase of minimal living , I think we probably need to experience for ourselves the futility of “stuff “. Otherwise, we’re just following another trend and not our truest selves.

Exact same reasons 🫂🙃 There's something very poetic about film photography. I absolutely love it. I remember when I got my Diana, I thought it was such a cute camera and not expensive at all. Until I developed the first roll. Then I got the catch. Medium format is a whole new game 😂💸 That just comes as another proof that the item's price is never just the price tag.

looool love your sense of humor! just one question, sorry if you answered in the video, but what do you do with the decluttered objects? have you thrown them away immediately? do you keep them in a separated box until the 30th day?
@BeaMinimalista
@BeaMinimalista 6 ай бұрын
@forget.me.not. Thank you and that's a great question! I didn't made it explicit in the video because honestly, it depends. According to the "official rules" the item needs to be out of your home by midnight that day. Even though I understand the principle of this "rule" (and then again, the goal is to not restrict yourself to rules but rather motivate you to declutter), I don't really agree to it in the sense that I would rather group other similar items and take them to a more responsible destination than just the trash: for example for donation. Doing this every single day it's kinda exhausting and can break the game. Also, life happens and we wont be 24/7 available it. But as always, just my opinion. Everyone should do whatever works for themselves.
@forget.me.not.
@forget.me.not. 6 ай бұрын
@@BeaMinimalista I agree with you! Thanks to you I'm doing the challenge. I'm sending some pictures of the objects to my friends, in case they need or want something, so I'm not throwing them right away. Also, this is one of the reasons I'm always accumulating stuff: If I find something that is still useful, I keep it at home, waiting for somebody to use it😅

Sorry this Video is not making much sense to me as long I don't know what happened with all that stuff. Especially the cloth seemed to me still good. Where is it gone? The Minimalism is not about throwing away. It's about respecting the stuff you have. That's why Marie Kondo is saying "Thank you" to everything she is giving away.
